We began our holiday in London. On the day we were suppose to leave for our next destination he said- we are going for a drive (he never tells me where as everything is a surprise). A couple hours later we arrived at a massive castle. Tony loves anything historic so I thought it was a “must see” in England hence the drive out there. We walked along the side of the castle, up a decorated hill to the top where to my surprise was a beautiful picnic set up. Upon return to the castle to my surprise again, he says- we are staying here tonight. I didn’t believe it at first, although our suitcases were inside the castle and he said- pick any room in here, the castle is all ours. Dinner time came and he led the way, out the back of the castle doors where I saw beautiful fairy lights and candles everywhere with a dinner table set up overlooking the water, ever so picturesque. To make dinner even more perfect he organised with the chef a set menu of my favourite foods! He is one to surprise me with dinners and similar gestures so I was not expecting the night to end the way it did. Once we had finished eating he walked me over to a bench beside our table. I saw a projection displaying on the castle, it was a video of him, at this stage I knew. The emotions were overwhelming as I watched and listened to all the sweet things he had to say, followed by pictures of us with lovely messages written over them and “our“ songs playing in the background. I thought the question was coming although then, fireworks went off. He led me down the castle steps lined with candles into the middle of a heart shaped from candles and a sign burning flames spelling out “Will You Marry Me?” Of course, I said YES!
The moment was perfect. When we got back to our room I discovered another surprise- it had been decorated. A big “Mr & Mrs” banner, roses everywhere, pictures of us in frames and little sweet notes scattered around the room.
That was the end to the best night of my life.
