Climbing up the mountain, surrounded by giants ( with @petitejosette ). Saturday we left the house having a nice (although quite steep) 8km hike in mind. And at the very last minute (at the trail head), we decided to switch plans and go for a 22km hike instead.
People always ask me what I train for and what my next race is, and my usual response is now: "I train so I can run or hike whatever mountain I want, no matter which distance". Although I do race here and there, I don't feel the need to prove anything to anyone (except maybe to myself). But I do train hard so it is completely ok to climb 22km (or a lot more) when the initial plan was 8km. That, to me, is complete freedom. #catchingthefog
