A juvenile barred owl (again.) A very similar shot to the one I posted yesterday. This one will however in a day or so replace the shot I previously posted. This is my mind, a sometimes sick mind, an often obsessive mind at work. In wildlife I'm learning you often take what you can get and what nature gives you. You take one shot of a creature and you improve from there and try to build on that. You have some control in positioning and composition obviously. Reasons that I like this shot better. Better composition, slightly more interesting pose, slightly better crop spacing, branch along 2/3rd crop line, slightly better lighting, slightly better view of wing plumage, slight bokeh in front of subject giving added dimension. So to some it may seem silly but details always matter, improvement always matters, quality always matters. So I will swapping owls for now and I will always be chasing that next shot, even if it's just incrementally better.
