This weekend is the last weekend I'll be working at @fattyseastoria so I want to get emotional for just one hot minute (so unlike me right?). For the past 5 years (and even longer if I admitted how long I've been drinking at these establishments) @fattyseastoria and @crescentandvine have been my home. Fatty's is the first place I've ever felt like I could be myself. It's where I met my friends that are like my family and where I solidified my friendships with the few I already had. Fern and Sue embraced my weirdness and even encouraged it. They gave us a home for the misfits where you didn't have to be cool or rich or even interesting you just had to be kind and have RESPECT. At Fatty's no one is the same, but we all get along based on our love for this place and each other. It's an escape from this city and sometimes even this neighborhood. I'm so glad I got to grow into an adult here, even when my growing pains were horribly drunken and embarrassing. But a crow can't live in its little nest forever, so it's time for me to move on to the next adventure and to bring all the kindness and respect I learned with me. Hope to see you tonight or at brunch tomorrow or even Monday for one last hurrah, but if I don't, you know I'll see you at Fatz! Just now I'll be the one on the other side of the bar drinking a mojito. Love, your favorite pork rind eating, makers slamming, Sheryl Crow belting, not so drunken anymore, bitchy bartender.
