PERFORM BENCH PRESS SAFELY!

On first inspection you might think the image on the left has more strict form because the dumbbells and arms are all parallel with the shoulders. However, this positioning actually puts A LOT of strain on the shoulder joints! If you perform with this form it just ‘doesn’t feel right’ to go all the way to the bottom of the rep.

Using the left image often causes shoulder problems such as rotator cuff niggles which include inflammation and possibly impingement – very painful and will need a lot of rest from any arm raising/pushing.

Using the image on the right will firstly feel a lot more natural and will allow you to complete a full range of motion pain free! Let the dumbbells touch your chest! This will allow you to get a good stretch on the chest for dem gains 💪

I posted yesterday about age being just a number. It's so true! The picture on the left I was 27 years old and everything was wrong about my life lol unhealthy, partying and drinking, in an unhealthy relationship....you name it!! If fat loss is a chess match (and it is), calories would be the king and protein would be the queen. Just like it's counterpart game piece, protein can do a lot to protect the king (calories) and be used strategically to bring about the desired checkmate result (weight loss).

⚱️⚱️⚱️

Here's how:

🔨Protein builds and repairs muscles and isn't easily stored as fat 🔨
Protein's main use in the body is building/repairing tissue. When it comes to health/fitness, that means muscle. Since protein is mainly used for tissue repair (especially if you're working out), it's very difficult to overeat which is helpful when you're trying to stay in a caloric deficit.

☄️Higher-protein diets boost metabolism and the body's calorie-burning ability ☄️
This happens in two ways: 1) protein builds muscle, more muscle = higher metabolic rate 2) protein is more difficult than carbs/fats to break down and therefore your body burns more calories to do so. Both of these mechanisms add up to more calories burned per gram consumed than either of the other two macronutrients.

⚔️Protein is physically filling and helps to cut cravings at the hormonal level ⚔️
Simply put, protein keeps you fuller for longer. Not only that, but adequate protein intake also helps control leptin and ghrelin, the two hormones that signal to your body fullness and hunger. This leaves less room/chance your stomach will be filled with calorie-loaded fats or tons of tasty carbs.

Making Real Food Easy & Sexy Again! 5 Ingredients + 15 Mins + 1 Pan ⚡️
🍳 Baked Duck Egg Squash Noodles with Asparagus + Avocado
I used Duck eggs as they are actually a superior source of nutrients to egg + actually cheaper in terms of calories + nutrients they provide!

625 Calories - P 25 / C 55 / F 35
Serves 1
Time 15 Mins

👉🏼 Ingredients
• 2 Duck Eggs
• 2 Cups Butternut Squash (Spiralised)
• 1/2 Avocado (60g)
• 1/2 tbsp Butter (dairy free substitute coconut oil)
• 125g Asparagus

👉🏼 Recipe
1. Preheat Oven grill + Preheat cast iron pan to medium, add 1/2 butter to pan and coat
2. Add the asparagus & soften for 2 Mins and remove.
2. Add the squash noodles and sauté until softened. Shape into nests like above pic.
3. Drop the eggs into the nest holes. Allow to cook for 1 minute
4. Transfer pan to the grill and cook for 3 Mins just until the egg whites are set.
4. Remove carefully and allow to cool.
5. Add the asparagus + avocado & season to taste. Voila.

Preworkout? Let me know your thoughts on them!
With the fitness industry market blowing up, and so many new, stronger and crazy pre workouts out there. It’s hard to decided what one is the best.
This isn’t a post on whether they are good or bad, but I want to answer questions I would get asked on a weekly basis.

Q. I get asked a lot of the time is, do they make you bigger/stronger?
My answer is simply no! Nothing will unless you train hard within the gym and have an substantial diet.
Q. Do you need to take them every session?
No you do not need to take them every single session. After a while your caffeine tolerance will increase and you will find yourself having to double dose, triple dose to even have an effect. What happens then is most people focus getting a hit rather than their training. A good alternative? Apple with a coffee! Try it next time you run out of preworkout

Q. Are preworkout fat burners?
No, but by giving you more energy you will notice your intensity within the gym rising possibly helping you to train for longer and harder. Training with a higher intensity for longer will result in burning more calories.
Q. What are the main ingredients in preworkouts?
1. Caffeine- everyone’s favourite ingredient. Gives us energy and would usually contain 180-300mg per serving. (Same as a Starbucks grande coffee)
2. Beta-Alanine- the cause of the itchy, tingly skin feeling you would usually get from taking it.
3. Citrulline Malate- an amino acid bound with malic acid. It has been proven to improve muscular endurance.
4. L Theanine- one most companies do not include. It is another amino acid that can be found in tea. If you have any other questions on your mind, please do not hesitate to message me! 😀

🖕When Someone Says, “Carbs Make You Store Fat!”🖕

😬Here’s what you have to understand...

✅You can 100% have carbs every single day, in every single meal, all the way up till your head hits the pillow & NOT store fat if you’re in a calorie deficit.

🔥Carbs aren’t the problem when it comes to fat storage.

🔑Insulin isn’t the problem when it comes to fat storage.

🤯Too many calories are the problem.

🤭Nothing supersedes your energy balance (calories in/calories out).

😤I’ll give you another scenario: let’s say you eat zero carbs but you have all protein & fat in a calorie surplus...you’ll still store fat having eating zero carbs.

My body started to change when: 1. I changed my workout routine. I did *light* pin loaded leg extensions, goblet squats, lunges, fitball hamstring curls and step-ups. But I did the same exercises for maybe 4-6 months! And I hardly went up in weight. I kept doing HIIT and cardio but really had no idea what I was doing. Now I deadlift and hip thrust twice a week, use resistance bands 3-4 times a week, superset most exercises and take timed, shorter rest periods. 2. I train more efficiently. If you train lazy, you don't get results. Don't expect to get results when you know you didn't push yourself in the gym. Don't lie to yourself. You know when you've got more in the tank. Don't waste your time, getting up early in the morning, getting dressed, driving and putting up with idiots to only perform a half assed workout! Give it your all! This is your time! Let’s talk INSECURITIES 🤓 We all got ‘em. I got ‘em, my friends got ‘em, you got ‘em, even Beyoncé got ‘em 🤷🏼‍♀️ They make us real, vulnerable and unique ✨ Some insecurities can be ‘fixed’, and some can’t. We will carry those with us for the rest of our lives and there’s nothing we can do about it. So:
🌼Relax, we just established there is nothing you can do about it, so no need to worry about what to do with them either 🤷🏼‍♀️
🌼You CAN control the way you REACT upon it. You are the one that chooses if you act all weird and awkward over it, or if you just embrace them and accept they exist 🤷🏼‍♀️
🌼 Anyways: don’t let your insecurities ruin your day/mood/opportunities, cause that’s just silly. •
So that’s my little rant for today. Inspired by these colour differences on my legs that made me feel insecure for a little second today. But then I figured that those spots only get me one step closer to looking like a leopard 🐆 And leopards are freaking AWESOME so who caaaareeess 😌💖💖✌🏻

Šiandien apie baltymus.
Baltymai sudaro apytiksliai 80% raumeninės masės (panaikinus vandenį iš raumens), ir jie atsakingi už raumens struktūrą bei judesius. Bet kalbant apie baltyminius papildus, esmė yra tame, kad jie ne visi lygūs vienas kitam. Prieš pradedant gilintis į baltymų rūšis, pirmiausia trumpai aptarkime kaip jie yra klasifikuojami:

BALTYMŲ KONCENTRATAS: Koncentracija ir baltymų apdorojimas į miltelių pavidalą gali duoti skirtingas sudėtis, remiantis nebaltyminių medžiagų pašalinimo metodu. Pavyzdžiui, baltymų koncentratai yra apie 70-80% baltymų, likusia dalį sudaro angliavandeniai, mineralai, vanduo ir riebalai.
IZOLIATAS: Baltymų izoliatas turi dar mažiau priemaišų ir yra dar grynesnis, kurį sudaro iki 90% baltymo su dar mažesniu kiekiu nebaltyminės kilmės maistinių medžiagų.
HIDROLIZATAS: Terminas hidrolizuotas baltymas ar hidrolizatas, reiškia iš dalies apvirškintą baltymą įskaitant polipeptidus ir peptidus. Dalinai apvirškintas gali skambėti įtartinai, bet tai iš tikrųjų yra naudinga! Be to, teikiant amino rūgščių statybinius blokus, peptidai gali turėti papildomos naudos mūsų kūne.

Great session at Bannatyne Spa - Russel Spuare. The Gym was fully equipped. Im talking the machines you only see in online tutorials. The equipment was well maintained and the quality was evident. The consistent grey theme with spontaneous touches of colour was impressive. The Changing rooms were modern. I was really impressed with the wristband activated lockers and not to mention the shower had HOT WATER🤩! No lukewarm nonsense!🙄
Only downside was the sauna was small and the steam room was even smaller.
