So we had a blast the last week on vacation and yesterday celebrating Father’s Day. We ate whatever we wanted and didn’t workout once unless you include a casual walk on the beach. Well now it’s time to cleanse! I felt so sluggish last night and just heavy! I know I gained a few lbs and it’s time to lose them. This 2 day cleanse is gentle, wont have you sitting on the toilet all day long but will flush the unwanted weight and toxins right out of your body! I think there's still a huge misconception when it comes to FOOD and getting in shape or even losing weight. Crash dieting where you're feeding your body FAR too few calories always results in gaining back that weight because it's unsustainable.... but having something in place where you actually EAT REAL FOOD- that's KEY! Almost every time I post a pic of me, someone assumes that I don't eat... that couldn't be farther from the truth! I LOVE food! So I thought I would share a sample day in my life of food!

Pre-Workout: Tofu scrambled with spinach and bell peppers, seasoned with garlic, pepper, and Himalayan Salt; Oatmeal with peanut butter, vanilla, cinnamon, and half a chopped date; coffee with almond milk & stevia

I take my pre-workout lemonade deliciousness about half an hour before I workout.

Post-Workout: Chocolate Recover post-workout formula with half an orange or half a banana

Post Workout Meal: Grilled chicken with whole wheat pasta and broccoli seasoned with olive oil, red wine vinegar, garlic, pepper, and Himalayan salt

Next Meal: Superfoods #GirlBoss shake with cinnamon, blueberries, and peanut butter

Next Meal: Bell peppers, half an orange, and two babybel cheeses

Dinner: Red beans and rice with lean, nitrite-free chicken sausage, bell pepper, celery, and brown rice

Because I eat every 2-3 hours, I'm not hungry which really works for me! I also find that my metabolism is revved up because of this style of eating. I love to mix things up and season things differently, but so much of this can be prepped ahead of time... I always have oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, grilled chicken, whole wheat pasta, veggies chopped... all ready to go!

What is something you always wanted to achieve? A college degree? A specific certification? Maybe you want to get a certain job you have always dreamed of doing or maybe you always wanted to open your own store.
For me I have had a couple of big dreams, but have since moved away from them as I grew and realized they were not for me. When I was younger, from as young as I can remember until 7th grade, I wanted to become a veterinarian. Then I realized that was not something I could handle and thought about sticking with medicine but going the homeopathic doctor route. That dream died and was replaced by me sticking with the homeopathic route but opening a store that sold things along those lines. Now I’m honestly not sure what my ultimate dream career is. I have ideas but none are fully solidified and are only parts that don’t quite make up a whole.
For those of you who know what you want congrats and do everything you can to get there! For those of us that are a little aimless or unsure of what path we should go down know you are not alone! It is very unsettling to be this unsure and lost for lack of a better word (at least to me it is). We just need to keep trucking forward as well as do some introspection to see if anything jumps out at us from inside ourselves. I believe we can each find our path and do something great even if we are the only ones to think so! •

In terms of simplicity, a glider is one of the smallest, cheapest pieces of exercise equipment available! These small discs can broaden your range of exercises while reducing your risk of injury. If you are looking for core toning exercises, you may have found your secret weapon. Incorporate glider exercises into your workout for a safe and effective change of pace.

Glider Disc Exercises
Gliders need a smooth surface to slide on, so find tile or wood floor, and set the gliders down. Start by placing one foot on the glider and slide your leg backward into a lunge. Feel your leg muscles working? Gliders allow you to do exercises without every picking up your legs. Next get into a pushup position, and place one set of toes on the glider. Move that leg straight out to the side and back to make your core scream. Gliders allow movements that would not otherwise be possible. Try moving your legs on gliders in a few different ways until you are comfortable with the range of movements.

Improved Stability
One main benefit of glider discs is that you will greatly improve your stability after using them for a few weeks. When on gliders, imagine walking on ice -- it takes a lot of balance to stay on your feet. Although the gliders are not as slippery as ice, they do offer the same challenge. All of the muscles in your legs and core must synchronize to keep you from falling. Compared to lunges on your feet, 10 glider lunges are much more difficult due to the lack of stability, and thus can make those 10 lunges more worthwhile to you.

New Core Exercise Options
If you are looking for that toned core for the bikini season, try exercising with a glider. A significant benefit of the glider is a whole new library of core exercises, which is especially handy when you've exhausted your penchant for crunches and situps. Many glider exercises for the core can be done from a pushup position. Try moving your legs side to side, front to back, crossing one leg under the other or simply rotate your knee to your opposite elbow. Or flip onto your back and try hamstring leg curls with your feet on the gliders for a burning sensation unlike any other.

Sometimes you have to stop and treat yourself because it makes any day better!
Always make sure that you find time for you.... whether it be a new manicure, pedicure, massage, quiet time on a hammock, sitting on a beach, lake, or whatever it may be that brings you to your happy place!
You may say to yourself ... " Im too busy" or "I do not have time".... we all have the same amount of time everyday.... the difference is not that your too busy or have no time it is that you choose NOT to make that time!
Always make that time for you, even if it is only 5 minutes! It will help keep you sane!

I’ve changed a lot in the past 2 weeks! My legs are a lot smaller, more toned, and stronger. My love handles have disappeared. My arms are more toned and stronger. My back also more toned. Waist has gotten smaller. Fat mainly gone but loose skin is what I’m working on now. I’ve lost 7lbs. Gained 3% more muscle and lost 2% fat. I do at least 10+ miles of cardio a day (biking, walking, running) I have been in the gym everyday twice a day. I intermittent fast. I drink at least 3 liters of water a day. I drink herbal tea daily. And I’ve added weights, since being in the gym I’ve been able to add 20 more pounds on weights then what I started with 2 weeks ago! Chocolate Peanut Butter Shakeology ✔️ Kicked my morning off right with a delicious chocolate peanut butter shakeology for breakfast!

Total Body Core ✔️ Holy heat index today..... was hoping to get a run in but this weather is brutual! So today is just a total body core workout day...... and man o man was I feeling it! It is amazing how alternating a 3x10 set with a 2x15 set every week can make the same moves feel so different!
This week was a 2 x 15 so the heavier weights caused me to fatigue faster and I had to go a little lighter on some of the bands for some moves but still felt really good!
Now time to catch up on water..... been slacking today! 😳

Up at 3:45 to drop my dad at the airport meant all I did was shower and roll out the door. Relying on the hospital cafeteria for lunch can be rough when you're trying to eat better, but it's not impossible!

Today was carb heavy which means less carbs for dinner but I made it work by focusing on getting some decent protein in and staying away from heavy condiments and high calorie drinks 😊
