Hiyeeee friends. I'm Farra, mom to 3 babies 3 and under and wife to one "egg". My "baby" girl Quinn is almost 3 and a half and I have 17 month old twin girls, Blake and Logan. Most of you know that I am pretty passionate about educating about essential oils- and I wanted to share a little about WHY. I got into using oils almost 2 years ago after I saw a friend of mine raving about them on Facebook. When I finally decided to dive in, I wasn't really sold on anything- I basically thought that the diffuser was pretty and figured it couldn't hurt to try some natural ways to de-stress and relax (I had just lost my dad and was feeling all the ways you feel when you're grieving...oh, and I was also pregnant with twins). The list of things that you're allowed to use while you're pregnant is reallyyyy short- and I was going through the hardest time of my life.
To be totally honest, I was pretty skeptical about them actually "working". I mean, I am a nurse who whole-heartedly believes in modern medicine and for some wacky reason, I, along with many other people generally assume that you have to believe in one or the other. Medicine is absolutely amazing and before it's existence, lots of people died who probably didn't have to. But guess what I have come to find out? It's ALSO amazing that we can support our bodies with plant juice- stuff that is not formulated in a lab but grown from the earth. And if we support our bodies to work in the way they are meant to, we will generally feel better (less stressed, more rested, happier&healthier). So...it's not a hard line in the sand- yes people, you CAN choose to support your body naturally AND also be grateful for the availability of medicine when it is needed! Anyway...getting back to the fact that I didn't think these oils would work- bought them knowing I wanted to get rid of my beloved candles (most are really not healthy to burn in your home) and I still wanted my home to smell nice. Relaxation would be a fun perk too- considering I felt absolutely heart broken and therefore angry/anxious/stressed, etc.
