I was in the mood for something a little sweet, a little indulgent and a lot delicious. I topped my @siggisdairy vanilla yogurt with 1 Tbsp @costco Kirkland Creamy Almond Butter and @innofood Coconut Clusters. Feeling pretty, pretty, pretty good. One thing I love about Siggis yogurt is that it's high in protein and low in sugar. Check your nutrition labels! A major mistake I see made often is thinking "vanilla" is the same as "plain"... and it's not even close! Vanilla flavor yogurts usually have even more sugar than the fruit flavors if you can believe that. I've seen yogurts with single serving sugar content upwards of 30 grams and most fall around the 25 gram range. Siggis has 9. 9 freaking grams. That's it. And most of that sugar is naturally occurring from the dairy itself. To put these numbers into perspective a Hershey's Bar has 24g per bar. Be. Careful. Your "healthy" breakfast might not be all that healthy. .

Unmeltable ice cream? It’s a thing! Scientists have found a solution to melting ice cream entirely by accident! After the 2011 tsunami damaged many of Japanese strawberry fields, the berries were too unsighlty to be sold whole. Pharmacy professors at Kanazawa University thought they had a solution. They made an extract from the strawberries—liquid polyphenol—that hopefully could be used as a new topping. However, when they added polyphenol to cream, it solidified instantly, making it useless as a topping—but perfect as a binding agent! Thus accidentally creating a frozen dessert that doesn’t melt (at least not for a while). These ice-cream pops are now sold throughout Japan.

Sperm count for men in Western countries has dropped 50% in 40 years. * Pesticides are linked to dozens of health problems. A “Clean 15” list was also included. The process of hybridizing food began in ancient times when humans first started to cultivate the wild foods growing in their environments.

Hybridization became more sophisticated over the years as humans learned to enhance certain traits such as size, sweetness, flavor, smaller or no seeds and brighter colors,  by selectively breeding plants within the same genus (this process was also occurring in the animal kingdom). Most of the foods that we consume today have been through the selective breeding process.

ℹ️How can you tell a Hybrid?

If a plant DOES NOT PRODUCE A SEED that can be germinated and grow into the exact same plant (true to seed), it’s most likely a hybrid. If its an animal and does not procreate on it’s own without mans intervention, and does not live wild in nature, the probability is high of it being a crossbreed.
