ROSA is short for Rob’s Open Source Android. It is an example of an anthropomimetic robot, which are built following the same anatomical design as the human body. Using an open source operating system means that others can easily contribute to the development.
ROSA is currently being displayed in the 'Build' section of the Robots Exhibition at Manchester's Museum of Science and Industry that runs until 15 April 2018. The event explores the 500 year development leading to robots as we know them today, and how we have imagined that they might be like in the future.
ROSA can move its arms but I think was only configured to pick out a face and follow it with its head.
