I picked these from the garden yesterday along with the watermelon radishes. I planted them in succession so I will have more of these lovelies pop up over the next few weeks. .
Radish (Raphanus raphanistrum subsp. sativus) is an edible root vegetable of the Brassicaceae family. It was domesticated in Europe in pre-Roman times. Cultivation: Radishes are a fast-growing, annual, cool-season crop. The seed germinates in three to four days in moist conditions with soil temperatures between 65 and 85 °F (18 and 29 °C). The crop matures in about 3–4 weeks. Radishes grow best in full sun in light, sandy loams, with a soil pH 6.5 to 7.0. Nutrition: Vitamin B-6, C, Thiamine, Riboflavin, Niacin, Pantothenic acid, Folate, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Manganese, Phosphorus, Potassium, Zinc and Fluoride
