Happy Friday, everyone!
Who’s up for a killer total body challenge to kickoff this holiday weekend?
This is a, um, fun(?) little move that a learned from a dear friend of mine @tracielayman
Overhead Kettlebells!...These bad boys are no joke!
Here’s how it works:
* Start at the bottom, in a full seated position, with a KB fully extended over your head with one arm. * Using your other arm for support, try to stand up WITHOUT lowering the KB. * Once you’ve gotten to your feet, sit back down (again, WITHOUT lowering the extended KB)
* Switch arms and repeat
Remember, you cannot lower the KB at all until you switch hands. You can’t even so much as bend the elbow of your extended arm.
Give it a try! Challenge yourself! See how many you can do!
And, don’t forget to have fun!
(NOTE: if you don’t have a KB, you can always use a dumbbell or a bar plate with side grips. Also, I don’t recommend going really heavy for this one. Personally, I use a 10# KB + my 6# vest, and that’s plenty for me. The challenge is in keeping that arm up at all times.)
