Come with me ...to Mount Fuji
3 things happened that potentially could have kept us from catching a glimpse of Mount Fuji from Kawaguchiko. I'll tell you what they were, so you can learn from our experience:
1. On the actual day we wanted to visit Kawaguchiko, all the morning and early afternoon buses were fully booked. We decided there would be no point in getting a later bus as we wouldn't have a full day there, so we postponed the trip till the next day ...and made sure to book tickets on the earliest bus (you can also get trains but we decided bus was the best option for us)
2. The following day, there was a delay in checking out of our hotel due to a payment error and waiting for the concierge to leave our suitcases. Despite power walking and running up a million stairs and escalators, we ended up missing our bus! Thankfully, we were able to book tickets on a bus 2 hours later, and also change the timings of our return trip, so we'd still have fairly enough time to wander the area.
3. The day started out really miserable, rainy and cloudy, that we didn't think we'd be able to see Mount Fuji at all!
Despite all this, we got to Kawaguchiko after all and ended up having a lovely overcast but bright day, AND the clouds cleared giving us great views of the volcano mountain!
Any other waylaid travel plans that either did or didn't end up getting fixed?
