Serge Jumel Cuvée Probvs Millésime 2008 Premier Cru Brut Champagne
Small producer, part of a cooperative, located south of Epernay.
50/50 blend of Ch & PN.
Light golden hue.
Apples, melon, citrus, sweet fruit on the nose.
Soft delicate mousse.
Medium complex, tarty, with high piercing acidity. Almost laser like initially. It softens after some time in glass.
Also gets more depth and character after some air and warmth.
After additional time honey spread on brioche adds to the palate.
Mouthwatering medium length finish.
Great value Champagne that works well with food.
Rating (incl value for money):9.4/10 #champagne#sergejumel#cuveeprobvs#cuvéeprobvs#champagnelife#champagner#glassofwine#champagnelover#lehmannglass
This Sunday we're sipping a red from the south of France. Pinot Noir is not normally found this far south in France but here in the Haute Vallèè de l’Aude in the foothills of the Pyrenees, the nights are much cooler. A very pretty Pinot with lush raspberries, savoury undertone and violet floral touch.
“Medolot” is called “美多乐/Meiduole” in Chinese, thus being a mix of Merlot (美乐/Meile) and Medoc (美多克/Meiduoke). The phonetical association with these two words is greatly misleading, as the wine is only a VCE or “vin de la communauté européenne” which is French for cheap Spanish bulk wine bottled in France. Photo taken on the field at Guangzhou Interwine, a local wine trade fair.
