3 THINGS TO FOCUS ON
As a personal trainer I see and speak to a lot of gym goers. They range from complete beginners, all the way to gym freaks (like myself ).
Although these people use the gym/fitness and health for different reason's, it's noticeable that they are all failing to focus on the following things for their progress.
NARROW MINDED PROGRESS
Just because your not smashing bench press figures, 1,000 squats per session, feeling like a superhero every workout or have a 6 pack after 2 days at the gym, it doesn't mean you’re not progressing.
Think beyond this, look into things that can mean so much more!
Improved core strength
Increased muscle mass
Reduction of cm's
Sticking to a routine
THE VALUE OF FOOD
The value of food and all it's benefits is also an area that many people overlook. If you're eating minimal when trying to lose weight or simply not eating enough varieties of foods at all, then you can say goodnight to the benefit of long term progress.
Having a balanced diet is one that will sustain your progress long term.
With this in mind, it's important to understand what foods and how much, rather than none at all.
DON'T LET IT CONTROL YOU
So many people are victims of this when it comes to going to the gym way to much (even me). IT WILL CONTROL YOU!
I am learning more and more, that you MUST make the gym/fitness work with your goals and lifestyle, not let it control you and your life.
Both a starting gym goer and full time one will have fallen into this at some point. .
You start out super motivated, going every day & weekend, when actually all you need to do is structure it so you can enjoy it and still have a life.
DOUBLE TAP IF YOU'VE EXPERIENCED THIS!
