Correcting Glute Imbalances with Uni-lateral Exercises with @sabnanananana

Most people have a dominant side of their body i.e. right handed, right leg used to kick or jump. This dominant side tends to have developed more muscle mass and more control than the other. This dominant side can affect your bi-lateral (both limbs) exercises such as squats, deadlifts, overhead press, bench press.
.
Enter Uni-lateral exercises. Uni-lateral exercises (single arm/leg) should always be in your program to balance out this a-symmetry in size and strength.
.
Here are two supersets designed to balance out this a-symmmetry:
.
A1 - Tempo Squats 3x10 @ 3/0/0/1
A2 - Single Leg Glute bridge 3x15
.
B1 - Single Leg Romanian Deadlift 3x12
B2 - Walking Lunges 3x20
.
NOTES:
-One exercise is weighted and the other is body weight. Don’t underesimate bodyweight exercises, especially when superset!
.
-Correct alignment is super important here or you will just be building that improper pattern and furthering your a-symmetry!

Training this year hasn’t really gone my way at all. Injuries, imbalances, niggles and accidents have been pretty much all of 2018 and I’ve not really made any of the progress I wanted to by this point in the year.

However, I’m going to keep on pushing these setbacks and I have faith that the rest of the year will be better but I thought I would offer a more human perspective to the social media gloss. ✌🏼

Want a new hamstring variation exercise, Find yourself a lat pull down bench or something similar you can wrap your legs under, to make it easier for beginners use a resistance band to help assist on the way up, bending at the hips and slowly controlling yourself down as far as you can go than drive up contracting your hamstring and glute muscles (this video is sped up)
If this is to easy lose the band and from their if it is still too easy come out further with less bend at the hips, their are many ways to do this exercise give it a go if your looking for something challenging πŸ‘ŒπŸ½ Control and contraction are key .

Transformation v2.0 winner!

Caroline absolutely smashed this. Winning the $1,750 prize up against 8 other people in the challenge.

Not only did Caroline get into this shape 5 months after having her second child......but doing it whilst running a business and helping her partner with his own start up business. I really couldn't be prouder, this just goes to show that if you put your heart and soul into something you can achieve it.

Caroline came to me needing someone to - in her own words - 'Do the thinking for me'. We worked through a few hiccups along the way (it's not always smooth sailing but the catch-ups and midway scans give us every shot at nailing things), but working together and 100% trusting the process got her that moment where she could love her body!

Here is Sam, Sam built a kilo of muscle and burnt 5kg of fat over the 8 weeks getting himself well into single digit bodyfat percentage territory. As a personal trainer himself he obviously trained seriously before but this took him to the next level..... here's what he had to say...
