thoughts become things! i wrote this in my notebook last night whilst doodling watching tv but thought it actually deserved its own post! i was having a conversation with a really interesting lady on friday and she said to me “i believe that if you tell the universe you want something, then it will give it to you”. she said if there is something in life that she really wants but doesn’t quite know how to get there then she will say it out loud, and she will instantly know which path she needs to take, and soon enough she will get there.
i’m not a particularly spiritual person and i don’t know if i completely believe it is the universe that does it, but i do love that thought and believe that thoughts definitely become things. i also believe that it can have the same effect the other way, with negative thoughts. it’s sometimes so easy to moan and feel down about all the bad things in life, such as being bloated and feeling miserable from IBS, but if you say it to yourself enough times then the crappy feelings will start to absorb you and will make your life feel as crappy as you do in that moment, all the time.
BUT, if you focus on all the good things around you, all the things you like about life that make you happy, and despite having rubbish times with your symptoms, focus on the ways you can keep yourself healthy and happy, then these positive thoughts will start to take over instead. your mind-set can determine so much of what happens to you, or at least how it affects you. good thoughts = good things!
