Hey guys! It's been 3 months and 16 days since I made the transition to a vegan lifestyle. This has been and continues to be one of the best decisions I have ever made, and I find myself falling more and more in love both with who I am and with the world around me with each new day. •
After a lot of intrigue, inspiration, research, and conversations convincing people I'm not crazy (although we all know I am), I've decided to explore a new route: raw veganism. Basically this lifestyle entails even more of the fruits and vegetables I already eat, select beans, lentils and legumes, nuts and seeds, and leafy greens. The main difference is that the food is no longer cooked above 42° celsius. While this saves time and resources, is low in unhealthy fat, and makes for relatively easy meal prep, the food retains a higher amount of the nutrients that are lost through cooking/baking at high temperatures and it is easier for your body to digest.
If done correctly, making sure I am getting the correct amount of calories for my basal metabolic rate as well as meeting my nutrient goals for my body, this lifestyle has had so many amazing effects documented: healthy weight loss, energy level increases, eyesight/memory restoration, better sleep/less sleep needed, greatly improved performance (many world class athletes live this lifestyle), and more. •
So, for the next 30 days, I plan on living this way and documenting as I go. I am incredibly excited to watch for the changes. Along with going raw, I am also going to be implementing more yoga into my daily routine and documenting that as well.
And finally, I have boiled down clay from #highwaterclays in Asheville, NC, and am going to be adding this until my life as well. Consuming specific kinds of clay is not only a majorly hippie thing to do, but it is also an incredible mineral supplement. Along with making (healthy) changes to your digestive system, absorbing toxins, and other things, consuming clay has also been known to incredibly heighten all of your senses. •
