Love is everything.

A week about relationships: Tuesday
.
Bahahaha I could not resist this picture for today’s post!
.
Everyone you know came into your life with baggage. Even your children came in with a bit of genetic baggage.
.
We are the way we are for a reason.
.
The people who are hard for us to deal with have a history that we might not know about. A life before us.
.
I know why I am the way I am. I know what’s broken my heart, what terrifies me and what I will avoid at all cost (and why), but you might not. Those are the things that make me the way that I am.
.
That’s why I would hope for a little patience, wiggle room and grace from others.
.
I guess if I would wish that from others then I probably ought to be willing to offer it in return.
.
Some of us are naturally pleasant, some serious, some controlling, some loud, exuberant and funny. Some of us have big walls around us, some are shy, some fiery, angry, hard, and some clueless, prone to distraction or self centered (que the girl with the glove😂👆🏼).
.
Truth is, we don’t know why people are the way they are.
.
There’s genetics, personality type, the environment they were raised in, life experiences, the generation they were raised in, trauma, illness.....so, so, so many things influence the way we behave.
.
Maybe, if we can remind ourselves that we might not know the whole story about the hard people in our lives, we can find a place of understanding in our hearts for them.
.
And, if not understanding, at least a little compassion....because isn’t that what we want for ourselves too? I know it’s what I want. 😊

Working on my lesson for Sunday. Going to be looking at a tactic Satan has been using since the garden of Eden, “God didn’t mean what He said...”. Remember the Old Testament Covenants are not binding on Christians today, but we can learn much from them. “For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.” Romans‬ ‭15:4‬ ‭ESV
