Tonight I threw together a stir fry in the Instant Pot with beef strips, cabbage, onion, ginger, garlic , and coconut aminos. It only took a few minutes to cook and I think sometimes I like the garnishes more than the actual meal. Tonight I added scallions, raw cashews, relish, pickled cucumbers and radishes. I then topped it all with a fried egg. An actual recipe? No. A flavor explosion! Yes! •

Good heavens how good is this!!!!!! 😵 It’s my first time to try a nut roast as I found this gem at the farm shop @denbies_wine_estate 🍇 Because it is pretty much impossible to find any readymade meals without oils, this is a bit of a novelty and great to have as a backup for when there is no time to cook! Goals are individual experiences and accomplishments you strive for. A vision is the bigger picture. Your VISION becomes your WHY and should aim to answer questions like:
► What life do you want to have lived at age 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 etc?
► What kinds of people do you want to be surrounded by?
► What do you wish you could change about the world?

✔️CREATE THE VISION
First, you need to identify what matters in life. Next, make a list of the categories of things that matter to you (ex. Health, ability, relationships, time, wealth, etc) Finally, craft a statement that describes what your ideal life looks like.

If you want the best chance of making your vision happen, you’ll need to go further. Build a system for yourself, where you review your vision and goals regularly and update your action plan for accomplishing those goals.

Anyone else geek out at the health food store?? I am such a weirdo. I get all excited about goat milk keifer, cinnamon coconut chips and this cashew yogurt! I am really excited for Alex to try this. He is such a picky eater and he can not have dairy. They have goat milk yogurt too but I wanted to try this one first. I went to 3 different groceries this morning, the library and the post office. Trying to get everything done while it is warm!!! I put most of my grocery haul in my IG stories. The good stuff and the fun stuff! 👍😁 I forgot my dark chocolate though. Woops. I am now off to chop some veggies for the week!

So my #eliminationdiet went hand in hand with going #vegan to heal my #leakygut. Well, 21 days came and I chose to reintroduce corn. Mostly because I wanted popcorn 🤦🏽‍♀️ followed by tacos. So these were a super #quick and #easy #vegantacos. I seasoned the butternut squash in some homemade taco seasoning and cooked them in a pan. Then I combined a bag of broccoli slaw with avocado, cilantro, lemon juice, salt and pepper obv. Throw em together and TADA! Preparation:

Happy Monday friends! I know this is talked about a lot but it is so very important. To be grateful for the big and the small things in life will give you so much more joy and happiness in the end. Grateful for the shoes you are able to walk in, grateful for the shower you are able to take, grateful for the beautiful mug you love dearly that you use each morning. The small things matter too. I keep a stack on journals on my nightstand and when I wake I can jot a few things down that I am grateful for each day, set my intentions, write what was the most exciting part of my day and even the parts where I struggled and why I struggled and what I can do next time or why I felt the way I did and go deeper into that. I’d be lost without journals and writing things down. Today I am grateful for a cozy bed and being able to snuggle with the littles each morning💜 what about you? In my work as a Nutrition & Lifestyle Coach, many of my clients ask me how to remain healthy when First Communion, Confirmation and Barbeque season begins. 😁🥂
Below are 10 things you can do to help ensure that your next get-together does not leave you with a huge hangover or a food coma. Hope they help!
1. The first tip is to make sure that you don’t go to these functions starving.
2. Take a good look around the food table before you grab anything.
3. Spend your calories on the good stuff.
4. Promise yourself you’ll eat at least one or two vegetables.
5. Be strategic about alcohol. Stick to wine or spritzers and if you have a cocktail, go for one that is mixed with club soda or tonic water.
6. Drink a glass of water before you go to the event, upon arrival, and in between each alcoholic beverage. This will help keep you hydrated.
7. Try to focus on talking to people and not on the food.
8. Position yourself away from the food.
9. Try to opt for a fruit-based dessert when possible.
10. Eat enough food at the event to satisfy your hunger so you won’t go home and eat more food.

Sometimes things don’t go as planned. Just like these tahini chocolate chunk cookies that came out of the oven as one big crumbly hot mess 😂 I’ve always been taught that rather than giving up, make something beautiful out of what seems like a failure and you may get something even better, & that was so true of these chocolate cookie crumb tiffins. Hello friends, took a digital detox yesterday and spent time outdoors in the beautiful sunshine. The fact that Spring weather has been so delayed in Toronto, we made the most of it yesterday. Sent the slow cooker before we left and returned home to the warm and spicy scent of black eyed beans curry - all ready to satisfy hungry tummies. DYK, a slow cooker is the most energy-efficient appliance for cooking your meal? Seems a bit odd considering that it runs for so long right?! Because it heats a small pot filled with food, it doesn’t waste as much energy as a oven which has a lot of empty space. Also, slow cookers are great for one-pot meals—less water usage and minimal cleanup for you! .

We often talk about the ketogenic diet in terms of weight loss and how great we look and feel. As many of you are aware, thanks to my incessant whining on IG, my health had been pretty rubbish lately.
I believe absolutely, positively, totally that food is the best healer, along with gentle movement and mental attitude.
I also believe that different foods suit different people.
I *know* my body is best with raw food, yet I constantly ignore it and go back to cooked food. I don’t understand why I do it. It is like an addiction - I know I’ll feel at less than my best afterwards, yet I go ahead and do it anyway.
So, as part of my Radical Self Care journey I am going - once again (*sigh*) - to try all raw to see if that gives my body a fighting chance to heal. I have had some good advice from my real life friend who has been totally raw for over a decade, and I continue to learn from this amazing IG community.

I do have a bit of a thing for frozen berries - I love the texture and the sweet explosion as they melt in your mouth.

Man, have we had some glorious day here ☀️ I had a few moments in between baby’s teething bouts to prepare something for a picnic at Polesden Lacey one day, and ended up making #glutenfree #pasta with chickpeas and veggies on a bed of greens and grated beetroot 🌱🍃🌿I also made my favourite apple crumble which I cant wait to share with you guys in the book - yei!!! - and we all shared that one 😋 I definitely feel revived after aoakung up so much #VitaminD in the sun, it just makes such a difference to your wellbeing, don’t you think? ❤️

Ah! Brinjal Coconut Curry and I go a long way back. I remember stuffing my face with this curry, wrapped in warm fluffy chappatis, growing up.

My first time having chicken adobo and it was delicious! I went to an earth day festival in San Diego and wasn't sure what to eat without breaking my keto. Luckily I found this delicious Filipino dish and looked up the ingredients. Turns out I can have it! I was proud of myself. There was soooo much "fair food" and I stayed away! Second time this weekend I went out and stayed keto. I went to @chebahut_sd on 4/20 and had a chicken Bacon salad with ranch. Go me!

GOAT GHEE | it’s a pass! Well he’s not igE allergic to it (we still need to work on him tolerating it) but it’s a start, and I’m SO excited! Last night we did a smear on his lip, and this morning I added a toothpick dipped in ghee to his soup. No reactions! I’ll start slowly increasing it by adding a toothpick to every soup, and from there gradually increase the amount until he’s having about a teaspoon in each meal. I really hope he can digest it. If he can, it will be a fabulous source of vitamin E and vitamin K. Butter and/or ghee from grass-fed animals contains a special form of vitamin K called K2 (also referred to as activator-X). Weston Price mentions in an article (which I’ll copy in comments) about how “vitamins A and D signal to the cells to produce certain proteins and vitamin K then activates these proteins”. Noah is getting vitamins A and D from cod liver oil and liver, now I’m hoping ghee will make these sources even more beneficial. Weston Price adds that “vitamin K2 plays a crucial role in the development of the facial bones, and its presence in the diets of nonindustrialized peoples explains the wide facial structure and freedom from dental deformities”. Music to my ears. I really hope it helps keep his teeth strong and continues to remineralise them. The article goes on to say that “a growing body of published research confirms Dr. Price’s discoveries, namely that vitamin K2 is important for the utilization of minerals, protects against tooth decay, supports growth and development, is involved in normal reproduction, protects against calcification of the arteries leading to heart disease, and is a major component of the brain”. The GAPS dairy protocol suggests sticking with ghee for a minimum of 6 weeks before then trying butter.
