Flip through the photos and look at that grass. That perennial grass is working hard with the animals to remove carbon from the air and store it in the soil. Agriculture has been a major cause of climate change, but it can also be the cure. This summer we will be presenting you with the uplifting and hopeful story of regenerative farming. Regenerative farming methods use grass eating animals rotated over pasture lands to retain seasonal water flows replenishing our aquifers, provide habitat to native wildlife, CREATE healthy soil with a healthy microbiome and sequester carbon from the atmosphere. Regenerative farming effectively reverses climate change. When you buy beef, lamb and pork at our shop, you are supporting our friends at @thespringcreekfarm who have been farming using regenerative principles for years. This year we are supporting them in taking the next big leap for our planet. They are working to become a @savoryinstitute hub, a teaching ground for other beef farmers who want to learn how to switch to this style of farming. The training costs of becoming savory accredited are not cheap, but together we believe that it is the best way to accelerate regenerative farming in Canada. We have to do this quickly. The earth is counting on us. Follow along this summer as we teach you about regenerative farming, holistic management, and how we need to keep eating regeneratively farmed meat to replenish the earth.
