Week 1 has begun.

Current calories: 3000.

Protein: 170 gms.
Carbs: 435 gms.
Fats: 70 gms.

Current body fat: 25%.
I have been on surplus of more than 4 months and ideally i should be focusing on cutting down fat but majority of these 15 months is going to focus on reversing the metabolic adaptation.
I have done my share of yo-yo diets/hypo-caloric diets which often led to maintaining at low calories and rebound of the fat i have lost so for the coming 8-10 months my goal is not just to reverse the metabolic adaptation but actually adapt at higher calories to improve my metabolic rate.

Happy Friday Fit Fam โ˜€๏ธ Iโ€™ve had a week full of doubt and obstacles. I wonder if Iโ€™ll be muscular enough, lean enough, competitive enough to do well on stage. Doubt is okay, it fuels your desires even more, but you have to let these thoughts push you instead of letting them tear you down. Iโ€™m better than I was yesterday, and at the end of the day my main goal is self growth. The rest of prep Iโ€™m going to put a smile on my face and allow these thoughts to push me further instead of letting them get me down like I did this week! Breaking down your traditional set of 5x5 or 4x6 into smaller blocks of reps with minor intervals between these blocks. For example, here I'm doing 5x5 broken down into two blocks or 3 + 2 reps with a 10-30 second interval in between the blocks.

This type of training allows partial replenishment of ATP (energy) between the clusters. In turn allowing you to increase both strength and power as it allows you to get a bit more intensity. As you can tell it's a long time spent on one exercise, but as they say, sometimes less is more ๐Ÿ‘Š

2 years ago I got very minor foot surgery to remove my *fractured in two* lateral sesamoid bone in my right foot. Despite being a tiny lil bone, my alignment & the way I lifted was completely thrown off!
.
Every time I went into triple extension (on my tippy toes) during my lifts, my right foot would roll to the outside blade, putting undue stress on my lower back/hips.
.
The day after surgery I signed up for a LA Fitness membership & started down the path to my first bikini competition.
.
I love bodybuilding. I love oly lifting. I love powerlifting. I love yoga. I love spin. I love to sweat - full stop.
.
My fitness journey has never been tragic. Yes, Iโ€™ve had seemingly negative events push me to another goal or an alternative training method, like surgery, hormonal issues, or lifestyle changes. But everything I have ever done in the name of sweat has been grounded in love, gratitude, & drive.

Imagine if we looked at everything in our lives through the lens of our values (ambition, gratitude, passion for me). Negative things would lose their crippling power over us. We would be liberated.

There's no veggies on this list because they're all pretty reasonably priced, even if you're shopping organic.

Dairy products such as milk, whey, and cottage cheese are abundant and cheap. Take advantage of them if you don't have an issue with lactose.

This is how you can really rack up some massive caloric density that can also be highly nutritious! Very helpful when you're "too full to eat more". Healthy in the sense that my body feels fueled with nutrients, but Iโ€™m also working on feeding my soul too. Iโ€™ve been working on listening to what my body is telling me. When am I hungry? Do I actually need a snack? What am I craving? Can I turn that into a healthier version? This week, Iโ€™ve been craving a big burger. SO, I picked up some veggies burgers and Iโ€™ve been making this amazing inside out veggie burger salad. Toppings include all of the fermented veggies (whatโ€™s up GI system, Iโ€™m trying to heal you) and cooked veggies like green beans, sweet potato spirals and onion. So damn flavorful. Oh and my soul was craving a cocktail...so I made a vodka lemonade before gardening for an hour last night. Made pulling weeds fun! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ
