Happy #foliagefriday! It’s another progress update for my hydrospike watering.
If you look closely you’ll see them plugged in the pots with dark red strings lying around. Not good looking aesthetically, I know, but it’s by far the best thing I’ve done to my Calatheas and Fittonia. In all honesty, I feel like I’ve lifted a huge weight over my shoulder and kinda cracked a ‘calathea code’
Fittonia is notoriously known for drooping leaves when they’re thirsty, and it’s been 4 weeks since the last time I saw them drooped after using hydrospike watering. The Calathea family has never looked happier
I wouldn’t recommend this method for plants that prefer being on the dry side though, such as Hoyas, succulents are big no-no!
One more thing, use a stick to poke into soil to aerate the soil and allow more oxygen to get in, and wipe your plants’ leaves with a damp cloth every once in a while to help them breathe. Not only it’s good for your plants, they also look glossy and gorgeous in photos (I do it every 2 weeks nowadays, more often if we have active renovation projects going on)
