"Your eyes will be the death of me," I told her.
And she laughed
As I peered through them into space,
And went stargazing through her giggles.
The blackholes sucked the light of my eyes into hers'
And I felt lighter now,
The darkness countered the purity of her heart
But hung over us,
Like missing skylines of cities in blackouts,
Like clouds before a storm.
I grew tired of holding umbrellas,
Waiting for the rains to pass.
So I drowned her in those inky black waters,
Left her burning in dark fires.
I'm comfortable with lighter-coloured eyes now-
They lack as many metaphors.
