We would remember how our grandma would prepare the filling, pastry and then combine both component to become the favourite epok-epok that we know. Labour intensive effort to produce such a delicacy.
After the free smell of fried epok-epok and popping it into the mouth, all the back breaking effort was easily forgotten.
Production of epok-epok was the same back then (30-40 yrs ago), it is still the same now.
It set us thinking. Wouldn't it just be awesome if we have a mechanized production line to produce equally amazing epok-epok? Not impossible to dream yet to make it a reality. We will have to make it a reality soon so that our traditional delicacies wont be eradicated over time. Easier said than done but we have to make a conscious effort to move towards that mechanization process.
Sadly, skilled makciks who have such a forte pass on before even passing their skills onto the younger generation.
