▶️Here are my four top leg exercises. They are not necessarily my favourites, ☝️ but they are my staples.

1. Barbell squats
2. Sumo deadlifts
3. Barbell glute hip thrusts
4. Lunges (any variation)

These will hit every muscle in your lower body 🏋️ and are critical to building a solid foundation for any other movement.

On the first three, I focus on going HEAVY. That means that no matter what my rep range is, my last rep or two are a struggle. You can see my squat I only do 3 reps (for strength reasons) but my glute hip thrusts I do 10-12 reps (for hypertrophy/vanity reasons). I don't go heavy on lunges because my form crumbles fast and I've had knee pain in the past I want to continue to avoid.

Throughout all of these movements, I focus on mind to muscle. Making sure glutes activate, core is engaged, and I control my speed and range of motion.

I didn’t realize what a difference @definition_sports_massage made until I took it to the squat rack today. My hip pinching was finally 💯 percent gone!! Not only that, but my upper body mobility increased tremendously. On the left, that was literally as close together as I could get my hands on the bar. And that was still uncomfortable for me! El ayuno intermitente funciona si lo haces bien, y no porque es milagroso🧞‍♂️ como muchos lo ponen, sino porque vamos de regreso al principio mas importante de la perdida de peso— el balance energético: calorías consumidas vs. calorías quemadas🥑=🔥. Al comer en un periodo de tiempo limitado, mas corto de lo acostumbrado, reducimos la cantidad de calorías ingeridas, creando un deficit calórico y bajando de peso.

Ejemplo, si normalmente comias 🍳🥞🍌🥑🍗🍎🍕🍕🥗 en un periodo de 6am a 8pm (14hrs), como ahora solo tenes 8 horas para comer (normalmente del medio día a 8:00pm), no te va entrar TODA esa comida, entonces estas creando un deficit calórico sin mucho esfuerzo. Ahora, si pasas de comer lo del ejemplo a 🍕🍔🍟🌮🍰, aka “come lo que querras”, en esas 8 horas, no vas a bajar de peso porque son alimentos mas calóricos.

“Pero voy a pasar con hambre en la mañana y voy a querer comer mas en el almuerzo” 🙂
Al tomar solo café/agua en el ayuno, regulas la hormona del hambre y controlas la ansiedad. Sí, vas a comer mas en el almuerzo, pero tu “capacidad estomacal” no va a dar para exceder tus calorías, al menos que comas comidas mas densas en calorías de lo acostumbrado (lo cual seria contraproducente).

El ayuno intermitente ayuda y funciona pero NO es necesario ni milagroso. Lo recomiendo a aquellos que no les da tiempo desayunar, tienen un estilo de vida muy movido, o les gusta hacer comidas grandes🤙🏻

When you take a big breath, your lungs fill with air and your diaphragm contracts. Now when this is coupled with bracing of your abdominal muscles it increases your intra-abdominal cavity pressure or IAP which stabilizes your core and along with your back muscles creates your body’s natural “weightlifting belt.” 🏋🏼‍♀️

Challenge yourself on a regular basis!


People rarely train their legs. For the few that do, most of them neglect unilateral movements and/or supersets. Try throwing this badass superset in your routine with some challenging weight you can control and you'll definitely see the benefits

Leg day!!! Wanted to get in and out today so I ran through these four movements 6 times then burned it out at the end with air squats and jump rope. Really focused on my quads with this one and boy am I gonna feel it!! Sunday Funday!!! .

1. Leg press: push through the heels and keep it heavy 20-30 reps/ 5 sets ending with pyramid
2. Sissy squats: holding a 45 lb weight to counterbalance, sit back as far as possible and squeeze glutes when coming back to upright position. 20-30 reps/ 4 sets
3. Leg extension: since I was shot at this point, I alternated heavy on both legs to medium light on single legs. Lots of reps, little rest.

Small tweaks // HUGE difference

Exact same cable attachment, same stance. But you can hit two completely separate muscles!

In the first, I’m targeting hamstrings. My knees are “straighter” and I’m taking my upper body deeper toward the floor on the way down.

In the second, I’m targeting glutes, using both a hip circle and slightly more bend in my knees. The focus is on going slow on the way down and literally thinking about your booty🤪

These movements look so similar but it’s crazy how your muscles will engage differently. Either way, this movement is slightly advanced and takes a little practice. But lemme tell ya, my booty sure is sore today😩

I know that my girls secretly love/ hate me during class, but when you are in that room with me, we are there to WORK!

Classes are short (30-45 mins), so I make sure that the intensity is high, and the girls get in a solid workout during that time.

So, in between our weighted movements, I love to throw in plyos and simple bodyweight exercises to raise their heart rates, burn some extra calories, and burn out their legs.

▪️Step block jumping lunges (don’t worry about speed with this exercise, just make sure that you control each jump as it is a lot harder than normal jump squats on a flat surface)

Another BOOTY KILLA 🔥

Yesterday's leg workout was more focused on light weight & high reps instead of heavy weight! It's important to switch up your workouts so you can shock your body & keep that muscle guessing. It also gets that heart pumping! 😊 So with each workout, you're still going to do slow/controlled movements & focus on squeeeezing your glutes. But you're gonna keep the rep range around 15-20 (or just until failure) Alright, you know the drill:

1️⃣➡️Kettlebell Squats 4x15 |
2️⃣➡️Hip thrusts 4x20 |
3️⃣➡️This was a superset I did right after the hip thrusts, I'll just call it band squats with a kick 4x15 |
4️⃣➡️Regular squats 4x15-20 |
