I know a lot of you are here because of the story behind Kind Apparel - because of my story. Well, my beautiful and gifted friend @anastasia.allison hosted me on her podcast “The Inspired Adventurepreneur” and she has a true gift for teasing out inspiring, raw, gritty story. It’s a good one. If you love what we’re all about over here and you want to learn more about where I came from, why I started this and my vulnerabilities, give it a listen via the link in my bio.

I'm fixing to start working on getting my pineapple pattern up on the blog! Then I have to decide what to make with this yarn, any suggestions?
Today was an awesome #MakerMonday where makers taught ea other how to make duct tape&bags & how to use the 3D pen.My fave was giving a group materials to figure out how to make a Bristle Bot. They watched a video&ta-da! Asha is one amazing 6th grader, that girl can make & invent! #CannadayES#makerspace#misdlibraries #girlpower
Swipe through to see the journey of a Hazel pendant from @pigeon_toe’s studio, to our factory for assembly, and finally, hanging pretty in @alison__wu’s kitchen. Watch our Pendant Story highlight for more about this project! #makermonday#myonepiece
Throwback to a year ago when I had access to all kinds of laser cutting material! / Here’s a woodcut I made for a friend of the seven I Am statements of Christ (bonus points if you can find them all ). #MakerMonday
It’s #makerMonday and a batch of MamaSuds All-Purpose Cleaner has been labeled and are ready to be refilled and restocked! ⠀
You don't need a special cleaner for every nook and cranny of your home. Sinks, counters, doorknobs, stove-tops, garbage lids, the side of the couch where your mini-me drew a self-portrait.... all you need is this brilliant and effective formula that leaves nothing behind except faint aroma of pure essential oils.
This #makermonday we feature Claire Kahn. Claire is inspired by the Earth and sky, reminding us every day is #earthday
The images above are especially special because this flock of indigo buntings are the very birds that inspired Claire’s “Flying Opal” necklace and bracelet
Just doing a little sewing on my birthday! . I hope everyone is having a fabulous Monday!
For #MakerMonday today I'm sharing some exciting news from my wonderful, whimsical and talented friend, @robindavisstudio :) She is introducing some adorable mini robots to her online shop tomorrow!!! Check out her feed for more photos and videos of these cuties!
. #Regrann from @robindavisstudio - They are finally ready! 8 of @myminibots will arrive in my @etsy shop on Tuesday April 24th, 3pm EST. Over the next few days I’ll share more photos & videos on their tiny construction & fun ways to display them. They are mini art pieces, purely meant to be displayed & enjoyed. Not meant for little ones, as they contain small parts. Thank you again for all the kind & sweet messages about these little bots I’ve loved creating! #robindavisstudio#myminibots#etsyshopannouncement#arrivingtuesday#april242018#madebyme - #regrann
Okay so what had happened was... my customer ordered the oatmeal face polish and the jar broke in transport. I used tons of paper Shred so I feel like the post office employees were playing kickball with the package because why?
So anyway my customer basically received a hot mess in a box. Even though I was angry and positive that this was the post office fault not mine oh, I took responsibility because this is business and taking responsibility it's the professional thing to do. I quickly made her a replacement mask and sent it out ASAP. My customer is not only thrilled with the product but also with the way I handled the situation.
A few years ago when I was less mature and professional, this situation could have cost me a customer. I wanted to post this as a #message for other small business owners out there: always be professional. The cost of replacing a product is almost always less than the long-term cost of losing a customer. #handleyourbusiness#girlboss
Maker Monday is a weekly holiday at Carhartt. Today we celebrate with Jenny Barger of @LiveEdgeDetroit. Jenny, her brother Joe, and her dad Mike founded their wood supply business in 2016. They salvage the trees that Mike’s removal company downs. Once the wood has been cut and taken back to their warehouse, the crew mills it into new usable material. Earth Day may have been yesterday, but we can applaud sustainable practices all year long. #MakerMonday#FamilyBusiness#ShopSmall#EarthDay#Sustainable
If you’d like to observe Maker Monday with us every week, follow @craftedincarhartt for more stories about hard working folks.
Me gustaron mucho las flores de este bordado que por cierto, ya está disponible en mi tienda en línea! #foosbywtfernii
#makermonday Lathe Hack! Quick and easy way to make perfectly sized discs to any diameter you need. I forgot to mention in the video that you wanna start off by facing a piece of material that you will leave in the chuck, as a backing to whatever you're turning. Sometimes that peice will be sacrificial (like in this case) so keep that in mind. Also, you don't need to jam the live center into the work like crazy. Just put good solid pressure on itx lock it down, and make easy cuts. This is a great trick our friend Rolly Gaucher showed us years ago and hopefully someone else can get some use out of it!! #worksmarter#manualmachinist#handmade#barnstormfabrication#barnstormlife#lathe#lathework#lifehack
