Stunning new releases from @yangarraestate •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
2016 Ovitelli Grenache is like a Nebb on steroids, poised and powerful at the same time. Stunning blue and dark fruits, morello cherry and tight focused tannins. The acid is phenomenal, great length and perfect for those lazy afternoons.
2015 High Sands Grenache, well what to say. Graceful sophisticated and above all glorious. If you had a chance to try 2015 Ovitelli, think next level intensity, with complex black cherry and rhubarb. Layers of flavours underlined by a well judged acid and tight but focused tannins. As I am tasting this it is quite obvious that closed under stelvin, there is no doubt that this will outlive me (I am only in my 40’s, so careful of any smart remarks here)
2015 Iron Heart Shiraz, could without a doubt be the best Iron Heart that @petefrase has made from day one of this wine. I hope I can say that as I have seen every single vintage of this beauty and still madly in love with it. Think Rhône, Northern Rhône, melodically proportioned fruit singing the tunes of happiness. Elegance should have been its middle name after Iron Heart, as it is exuberayting it with confidence. The melange of blue and dark fruits are so cohesive, without clashes, well integrated charry notes coming from the fruit itself rather than impacted from oak are complimenting the fruit all the way to the end where we find slightly chewy tannins adding another dimension to the wine. I would love to see this with maybe 10 years of age next to Clape’s Cornas or Rostaing’s Cote Rotie.
All new releases also available in Large Formats, but in limited quantities, so head over to @yangarraestate and grab them while you can as they will not be there for long.
