I have felt really compelled to let you all know that despite the smiling pics I post and my commitment to and passion for all things wellness, I still have down days, hard days, anxious days and tears.
As most of you know, this year has been one of my hardest yet with the loss of our beautiful daughter, five months into our pregnancy. It has been the ultimate test to keep going with my gratitude, mindfulness and mindset work, as I've tried to make sense of it all.
And whilst these wonderful strategies haven't stopped me from feeling grief, sadness, fear, jealousy, regret and just pure, raw pain at times....they have allowed me:
•objectivity and the ability to question my thoughts
•faith that the bad feelings are only temporary
•permission to feel the negative emotions
•self-compassion for what I have been through
•the ability to be patient with myself
Life doesn't offer any guarantees unfortunately but if you are suffering right now, I hope you know you are not alone.
And remember, despite what you see on social media, no-one's life is perfect and smiles all the time, even the ones that work in the wellness industry and seem to have it all together!
As the beautiful @consciousboss once said, never forget that when you are scrolling through Instagram you are usually comparing the worst moments of your life with the best moments of someone else’s. It's just their highlight reel.
