This has never felt like work. This has always been celebration, always been relationship, always been about loving on people during important moments in their lives.
For hundreds of years, cosmetics have been applied to human faces as ritual and preparation for ceremonies, transformations, and celebrations. In the hyper-commercialization of the wedding industry, the significance of that sometimes gets lost. But every time I do this, I find myself in a moment of pure love: for intimacy, for recognition, for beauty in all its forms. Makeup is often just makeup - but to me, it truly is a way to connect.
