If fairytales are real
Then she isn’t the kind of princess
No prince or king could ever handle
She was not made
For ballgowns and parties
But for battlefields and saddles #bouchardgirls
5.23.18 // thankful to friends who don’t ditch me just because I disappear for a while. Even more thankful when dining al fresco while eating Mexican and drinking mango juice to slowly ease me back into being social. So thankful for amazing friends like @mademoiselle613 who love me regardless.
Kind of obsessed with all the spring colors here And if you are too you should probably [click the link in my bio] because my blog is FULL of spring colors from Morgan and Tyson’s wedding! Morgan had all of the pretty colors in her bouquet AND on the trees! I’ve been waiting for the trees to blossom all year, and guys, THE TIME IS NOW! Pink trees, white trees... all the spring colors!
I know a lot of people prefer the colors of the leaves changing in the fall but obviously, I am all about the blooming flowering trees in the spring. Both are nice, I just love those pastels! So what about you? Spring or fall?
Ayeeeeh, 3 more to go before the next session ? Cheers folks!
[insert art work above the bookshelves] And our first home is slowly coming together... I still can’t believe we lucked out and found a place that checked off almost all items off our wishlist. A beautiful all-white kitchen Dark hardwood floors Open-concept Close to the highway My heart is extremely grateful and full knowing that every inch of this space is ours - tiny imperfections and all. #firsttimehomebuyer
Nothing but blue skies
I was recently asked to talk about the role of nature with our children... Nothing can inspire simple connection to ourselves and each other than a walk outside. We see things. We share things. And it is the simple beautiful experience of just BE-ING together.
Catching up with @amanda_hawkins_ after 20 years was so much fun that we talked for 3 hours! Old friends are great friends! Sometimes social media really does have the ability to connect (or reconnect!)
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
E vocês, já perderam algum voo? Já tiveram que correr pelo aeroporto? Como foi isso?
“I thoroughly enjoyed the whole day, and really liked your style of teaching... The atmosphere was calm and organised and I especially liked the format of a bit of theory first. I loved that you gave a full demonstration on 'how to' and you were very accessible to all participants... I will have no trouble recommending your workshop Louise, and as an older person, I am grateful to you young women who are doing the hard yards and generously sharing your knowledge.” Lovely words from Sue, who came to my most recent workshop. I’ve discovered this year how much I love teaching, and I am beyond grateful that I get to do it as a job. That I get to guide and inspire people in a beautiful craft that promotes deeper nature connection. To contribute in even a small way to the collective return to slow, natural and handmade. Remembering our roots and connectedness. This is what the earth needs from us.
I had not learned this until life smacked me in the face with it.
I always thought that if someone else would behave better I could feel joy. Or I’d feel if circumstances in life weren’t as stressful I’d feel joy.
What happened was I was allowing outside influences to decide for me if I could feel joy for my life or in my life.
Finding the joy, no matter the circumstances, is one of those skills you learn in life that I keep trying to learn better..
Gladness not based on circumstances.
Lexi at the lantern festival! This is so cool. Love my baby girl
