🎶Let’s talk about core... 🎵baby🎶

The FitMate Club Arm+ Core Workout involves different plank variations and push up designed to work your biceps, triceps, and your entire shoulder girdle (which includes your pectorals "pecs" (under-breast muscles), deltoids "delts" (rounded part of shoulder), and Latissimus dorsi muscle. "lats" (Muscles connecting the upper extremity to the vertebral column). All of which are important for your daily activities. They also all contribute to helping you stand up a little taller and help your posture. You can do them anywhere, at any time, all you need is a bit of floor space.
A brief highlight of what each of these exercises target

1. Sit-ups aren’t the devil. However, they ARE only ONE of many ways to strengthen your core musculature. If someone tells you never to do a sit up, tell them to kick rocks. They’re effective in helping the muscle hypertrophy and build useful endurance for sports like jiu jitsu, wrestling, and skiing.

2. Our core musculature functions in 3 main ways: to fight gravity (think of a plank), to fight rotation (exercise pictured above which I will explain), and to fight unwanted flexion or extension (to be explained in another video) .

When these three functions combine, they help us stand upright, absorb and transfer force, and prevent ourselves from spinning off into the ocean every time someone taps us on the shoulder. .

.
Above is a “Paloff Press” at its most basic set up. Both feet on the ground, both knees on the ground, tight glutes (your ass), and an upright spine. .
.
.
To execute the movement, inhale and brace your stomach like you’re ready to receive a punch, then exhale sharply between your teeth as you slowly press the weight forward. If someone could push you over, you’re not staying tight enough. .
.
.
As you press the weight in front of you, you’re shifting your center of gravity further in front of your body. This will cause your oblique muscles to contract in conjunction with your lower extremities. Ultimately, this will functionally train your core muscles to fight rotation. Which will benefit you in every major lift, overhead movement, surfing, bowling, and giving your mom really good hugs. .

Happiness is not circumstantial. Happiness is as simple as just choosing to be happy. When we truly realize this, we instantly empower ourselves in any situation. The moment we choose to perceive things differently by choosing a loving perception of ourselves, others, and our circumstances, we not only strengthen our capacity to feel happy. We also open ourselves up to limitless possibilities where there once was seemingly no solution. Do not allow the negative beliefs of others to occupy your mind. Take control of your boundaries and what you allow yourself to absorb from others. Never let someone's opinion become your reality. Never sacrifice who you are because someone else has a problem with it. Love who you are inside and out. No one else has the power to make you feel small unless you give them that power. You are the only one who can create your happiness, because you have a right to be happy. It's your choice. Be happy, choose happy.
