Welcoming monsoons in Goa with some warm fuzzy feeling filled breakfast of- super soft Foxtail millet idli's (finally nailed it bruuhaaahaa ) and that til-dhanya wali chutney, filter coffee and that GUNPoWder home ground by loving mother of a husband's collegue in a home in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh (Taking a moment to thank universe and express gratitude ). ..
And yet another item from South that only reaffirms my understanding and observation on similarity between himachali and South Indian food. In the trans himalayan region also, a dry chutney with similar base items (dry chilli, garlic and salt) + wild herbs (added dried or wet) is eatne along with fermented pancake/chilla! We, ladakhis (turtuk), sikkim, Tibetan call it tsamig ..
With monsoons, all of my heart will be filled again with nostalogia and memories of home (this happens every year ), the rains and nip in weather triggers that longing for home and long past gone childhood in mountains
P.S Corrections are invited on my observation
As redundant and clichéd as it may sound, but the truth is- we are nothing but a tiny speck in the universe of this existence and that’s about it. And Spiti makes you realize just that. There is something very mystically enticing about Spiti Himalayas. They are an uplifting experience for anybody & everybody.
You may leave a part of you and may even find something you never knew. That’s the magic Spiti is. MAY THE SPITI BE WITH YOU!! Join us, the wannabe overlanders, this August as we go Road Tripping in the Spiti Himalayas.
