Tonight's movie "I Saw the Devil" (2010) was a second watch for us, and it's not an easy one to get through. It's a Korean film that stars Byung-Hun Lee and Min-sik Choi (Oldboy) and is very adeptly directed by Jee-woon Kim.
The story revolves around a psychopathic killer (Choi) who brutally murders Lee's fiance. It turns out that Lee is a special agent. Devastated, he swears vengeance and goes on a hunt.
As I mentioned, this is an extremely brutal film with buckets of violence and blood. It is NOT for the faint of heart or for anyone offended in relation to violence against women. But this movie is a masterpiece. Both lead actors do a remarkable job, and the line between them blurs.
The Koreans make wonderful movies I sincerely hope that even more people will see thus one. Take my word for it, though, this has some truly disturbing shit in it.
