today marks the end of a month long detox from booze. it’s not the first time i’ve gone without alcohol for a set period of time but it was long overdue. my skin looks 1000x better, i sleep better, i’ve lost some pounds (mostly cause i stopped eating whole pizzas at 1am), and i feel AWESOME! i’ve also found some solid mocktail bars that didn’t have me missing the real stuff
as a musician and freelancer, grabbing a drink w a friend or colleague is the easiest way to catch up or unwind after a gig. we almost don’t realize how frequently we consume alcohol and how it affects our mental clarity and physical well being until we make a conscious decision to temporarily (or permanently) step away.
full disclosure: i have every intention of enjoying a glass of rosè tonight! but i know that i would also be okay if i didn’t...would you challenge yourself to stop drinking alcohol for a month?
