I have racked my brain for years to try and understand why we are trained from the time we are little girls to hate our bodies.
And I try to understand why we are brainwashed to hate the very thing that gave us life?
It seems so illogical, yet statistically, 89% of women in North America are not happy with the way they look. What’s more concerning is when Dove conducted this study, 96% of Girls age 13 to 19 admitted to crash dieting.
Over 10,500 women were included in this study and were asked to write down for one day, every time a negative thought about their body came to mind. 97% of women age 10-60 admitted to HATING their body at least one time per day.
So how do we change this?
What if we:
Eat like we love ourselves.
Move like we love ourselves.
Talk like we love ourselves.
Act like we love ourselves.
I wonder how we would view our bodies if we all followed this lead, instead of following the lead of the media?
Do yourself a favor, talk to yourself and your little ones like you would talk to your best friend. Let’s start teaching our children a healthy balance when it comes to food and exercise and self talk.
