Thankful for messes! Last night we had my family Thanksgiving dinner because we're all headed out of town this week to our in-laws.
So for me it was the day of cooking since 10 a.m. and dinner....then cleaning until 10:30 p.m.
Sometimes I ask myself why I put myself through this LOL. I mean everybody was super grateful of course and I did have help, my mom brought the pies and I put my son in charge of the mashed potatoes from start to finish. And my husband was there to help me clean and watch the baby while I cooked......
But seriously people look at this mess!
So the first pictures are of the famous rainbow jello mold dish :-) the next pictures are homemade rolls, cranberry salsa appetizer, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes etc..... And of course there was a turkey in there somewhere, and homemade gravy.......then the mess! Which I am seriously still cleaning up this morning.... because we have already done four loads of dishes in the dishwasher!!
Repeating to myself...." I love Thanksgiving, I love Thanksgiving, I love Thanksgiving"..... But also last night as I looked around and saw the amazing abundance that we had.... And now that my fridge is SO full of food that we'll never eat in the next few days before we leave town.... I found myself standing in my kitchen after everyone is gone to bed in tears..... because I was so so grateful for this beautiful mess.
Hope you have a wonderful holiday with your family this week! And I pray that you will also remember those that have less.
Happy Thanksgiving week Instafriends!
