I recently had the pleasure of visiting Monica at her school in Maralal, Kenya.
Monica is a first year student at Irene School, an all girls boarding Secondary School in Samburu County.
This impressive, hardworking, and motivated young lady finished #1 position in her grade after Term one.
Her favorite subjects include Biology, Chemistry, Math and English. She likes studying sciences because her dream is to be a doctor and a nun. “I would like to become a nun to help people spiritually and mentally. Moreover, I need to help the needy like the poor, orphaned and the disabled. To provide for Mentorship and basic needs in their lives”.
Monica knows first hand the hardships of life. She is a paternal orphan and one of six children. Because of her humble background, the funds were not available to pay the required Secondary School fees. This is when a generous donor from NYC stepped forward and offered to help. Thanks to this act of kindness, Monica is able to dream of a future that will not only benefit her but also the many she will help during her lifetime.
Education=Opportunity. Education=Hope. Sponsor a Student, Change a Life.
