Kombucha is full of probiotics which are great for supporting a healthy gut, and once you gut is in good order the goodness goes out to the rest of the body.

Some other health benefits of kombucha include helping with stomach ulcers, keep Candida in check, help with your mental state due to the brain gut connection, helps heal leaky gut and the list goes on.

If you haven’t already tried kombucha I highly suggest you give it a try. You can make it yourself from home, or you can buy it in stores. I like this brand because it’s unpasteurized and organic. Two important things to look for. .

If you don't think of water 💦 as being nutritious, think again! Water is undeniably vital to human life and as it turns out to our intelligence. Besides constituting 60 percent of the human body weight, water is involved in every chemical reaction occurring in the brain. In fact our brain cells require delicate balance of water and other elements such as minerals and salts to work efficiently. These electrolytes flow in and out of our brain with every of sip of water we drink. ➖
Further, water is indispensable for energy production cause it carries oxygen, which we need for our working cells to breathe and produce energy. Water also plays a structural role filling in the spaces between brain cells and it also helps form proteins, absorb nutrients and eliminate waste products. ➖
Drinking a glass of water first think in the morning which is essential after a night without fluid intake, can ward off dehydration. Dehydration disrupts energy processes and causes loss of electrolytes, a loss which the brain is particularly sensitive. It has been estimated that as little as 3 to 4 percent decrease in water intake can almost immediately effect the brain fluid balance causing a number of issues like fatigue, brain fog, reduced energy, headaches and mood swings. ➖

CREAMY FRENCH ONION SOUP 💁🏼‍♀️ This was SO nice that even my Dad, who really isn't into healthy food, absolutely loved it! This is FULL of health benefits (mostly front the addition of red cabbage) including:
Reduced inflammation
Packed with vitamin C + vitamin K
Improves digestion
Boosts immune system
Loaded with calcium + magnesium
Loaded with manganese 🤗 I could honestly go on, it tastes amazing and if you feel that your health needs a boost, give this a go!! =

1/4 head red cabbage
1/2 red onion
1/2 clove garlic
1/2 cube vegetable stock (Boil in a pan for 10 minutes, then blitz in a blender before returning to the pan)
Add:
50 ml oat milk to make it creamy
Sprinkle parsley
Sprinkle salt
Top with 10g toasted 3 seed mix before serving (ALL INGREDIENTS FROM @tescofood )

Now, while changing is hard, nothing is stopping me from following amazing accounts of nutritionists and foodies. I might not cook a perfectly styled meal but it definitely inspired me to think before that bad habit kicks in and that is the change we all want to see but you, the nutritionist might not even know because it takes time and lots of going back and forwards but change happens because of you, you inspired someone who might not like every one of your pictures, or comment that often or not at all. Yet you inspired, so keep posting, keep cooking and keep showing up for those who you know and for those who you might not know that you inspired them. 💞

#transformationtuesday Today I'm sharing my incredible client @sara0684 and her transformation. Sara came to me about 6 months postpartum after her second baby. ⠀

A disciplined and consistent #crossfit athlete, she still wasn't seeing the progress she wanted despite working out hard. She knew nutrition was the missing piece.⠀

We incorporated more daily walking in addition to her regular CrossFit classes, and she followed a sustainable eating plan that fueled her for her workouts, career and being a wife and mom of two.⠀

Her discipline and persistence paid off! She is at 16.6% body fat and has lost 12lbs and 1.5 inches off her waist. She went from 133.4 lbs to 121.4 lbs and gained strength in her workouts including numerous PRs while on a cut. ⠀

😍😍 Vegetable Paella *Ingredients
3 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
1 Spanish {or sweet} onion, thinly sliced
1 large red bell pepper, sliced into strips
1 large yellow bell pepper, sliced into strips1 fennel bulb, sliced into strips
2 roasted garlic cloves, minced
3 bay leaves
½ tsp. smoked paprika
1 tsp. tumeric
½ tsp cayenne pepper
2 cups short-grained paella rice {like Matiz}
8 tbsp. sherry
1 ½ tbsp. saffron threads
1 tsp Kosher salt
4 cups boiling vegetable stock
1 cup fava beans {about 1 ¼ lbs. fresh or if you want to save a lot of shelling time, use frozen – prep is the same}
1 cup frozen peas
15 grape or strawberry tomatoes, halved
10 grilled baby artichokes in oil from a jar or olive bar, drained + quartered
20 pitted kalamata olives, halved
3 tbsp. Italian parsley, roughly chopped
4 lemon wedges

Heat olive oil in paella pan. Gently saute the onions for 5 minutes. Add bell peppers and fennel; continue to saute for 6 minutes or until soft and golden. Add the garlic and cook for an additional minute.
Add the bay leaves, paprika, turmeric and cayenne; stir well. Add rice then stir + cook for 2 minutes. Add sherry and saffron. Boil for 1 minute then add the stock and salt. Reduce heat to a low simmer and cook for 25 minutes. Do not cover or stir.
Just before the rice is done cooking, prepare the favas and peas. If using fresh favas, remove peas from pods and take off outer covering. Or soak in boiling water for 1 minute than remove skins. For fresh, put into a small bowl and cover with just enough hat water {about 2 minutes}. Drain favas/peas and add to paella pan. Add tomatoes and artichokes. Cover with foil and let rest for 10 minutes.
Remove foil. Place olives and parsley over the top and serve with a lemon slice.

A little fun fact about me is that my family is Norwegian and I spent a lot of my childhood there. I try to go back once a year to visit family and to get some hiking in, which is one of my favourite hobbies. Moyetes de nopal🌵
Hola humanos✌🏿 los teniamos abandonados pero ya volvimos con una muy buena receta para ustedes, necesitas👇🏻
▫️1 nopal
▫️1/3 tza de frijoles ▫️1/2 tza de carne seca
▫️1 tomate ▫️1 cda de cebolla
Primero pones la carne seca junto con la cebolla y el tomate en un sartén hasta que se hidrate un poco con el jugo del tomate.
Luego pones en una plancha el nopal para que se tueste.
Por ultimo pones el nopal en un plato e incorporas los frijoles (ya cocidos) y la carne seca.
Puedes agregar chile o alguna salsa si gustas👌🏻

For many people, dieting is confusing. Do you really need to eat little and often to lose weight or is there another method you can focus on?
Some early observational studies have suggested that eating small, regular meals throughout the day can lead to greater fat loss when on a diet. It is important to understand, however, that these studies are OBSERVATIONAL which means that they are not based on scientific evidence; it has just 'been seen' to occur in SOME individuals.
The idea that it is down to some magical increase in metabolism is a myth! This has been demonstrated in research studies by Cameron et al (2010) and Bellisle et al (2017). Both of these highly respected, scientific studies concluded that meal frequency itself does not stimulate rapid fat loss. Or, as Bellisle puts it, there is 'no difference between nibbling and gorging' when it comes to losing weight IF you remain in a calorie deficit.
As I have pointed out on a number of occassions, fat loss actually occurs when you eat fewer calories than you burn - whether you do this through 6 or 2 meals a day is irrelevant.
That said, it could be worth eating more regularly if you are trying to build muscle (Schoenfeld et al) but when it comes to fat loss, it bears no significance.
The take home message?
If eating regularly helps you to consume fewer calories over the course of the day then go for it! If, on the other hand, you prefer to reduce your intake by only eating twice a day then take that approach! The key is to find something that will work for you within the context of your lifestle - consistency is the real 'magic' behind successful, sustainable weight loss.

I started my career in school nutrition and I know that between menu planning, staffing, deliveries, and other operational tasks, getting on social media to post a photo of that day’s lunch is far from a priority. ⠀

Também conhecida como laranja amarga, é uma fruta usada na Medicina Tradicional Chinesa.
Seu principal componente é a Sinefrina (um estimulante obtido da casca da laranja; um alcaloide simpatomimético).

There is a huge difference between those who find the dieting process *easier* compared to those who either struggle or continuously fail.

I'm going to sound like something from a Hollywood movie here but it's super important that you reflect and look at why you've failed previously - and you will. There's no getting away from that.

What i've noticed recently is that i've seen the same people still following negative habits in the hope that something magic is going to happen. This is all despite me speaking with them and laying out some simple guidelines to follow.

The same questions and habits remain.

"What supplements?"

"Should I cut carbs?"

"I'm going 'out-out' this weekend" Again.

"Back to the "grind""

It's a cycle that will never end because there is a mindset of "I hope I lose weight" as opposed to "I'll make this adjustment next week and see how things progress."

This all sounds very black and white and in some cases it really is.

If the simple dieting principles of...

- Calorie tracking
- Weight Training consistently
- Exercises daily
- Sleeping well
- Managing stress

are all followed and tracked, then you can understand where it's going wrong and how it's going right.

The hardest part is being brutally honest with yourself.

Now i'm sure there's a script there somewhere. Maybe I should pitch it to Sandra Bullock & The Rock.

No sabes que comer hoy? Les traigo esta idea que está 👌.
Tostadas de atún fresco
-Filete de atún
-Limon
-Tomate
-Cebollín
-Aguacate
Aderezo:
-Yogurt griego SIN azúcar
-Chipotle natural
-Sal y pimienta.

Primero cortamos el filete de atún en cuadritos, exprimimos de 3 a 5 límones, dejamos reposar de 8 a 10 minutos y montamos sobre tostaditas salmas o cualquier otra tostada que te guste más.
Agregamos tomate, cebollín, aguacate y decoramos con el aderezo que está super fácil de hacer solo tienes meter todos los ingredientes a la licuadora y listo.
No te puedes perder este sabor, te va a encantar👅.
