Quilts in the breeze ... All of them are on-point masterpieces, yet they were made so simply using Sandi Blackwell's Square-agonals technique. She is one of our amazing authors who makes challenging-looking techniques accessible to almost any level of quilt maker!
Finally finished binding the smaller #onpointquilt am really loving the bright red #marthanegley background fabric which worked out fine, not as overwhelming as I was initially worried about. Backing is a beautifully #timholtz fabric.
I’ve somehow already managed to finish 7 quilts this year but this is my favorite recent finish! Hopefully I’ll be able to pack smartly when I visit Minnesota in June so I can bring it home to @jeanniebrossjudge#igquiltfestday14
I cut according to the instructions then halfway through, decided the quilt was too big for me to handle.. The candy red was a bit intense.. So spilt it into 2 quilts instead. #onpointquilt#marthanegley
Little Sister's quilt is 1/2 way done being pieced together! It's so soft and feminine, and I think will balance well the bright bold artwork going in her nursery. Also, it kinda sorta matches her name.
Are you looking to take your basic quilting skills to the next level? This follow-up class to Quilting 101 is an introduction to properly cutting and piecing fabrics. Class meets next Sunday (2/18) from 12-6.⠀
Several years ago a friend gifted me some of her leftover blocks from a quilt I had greatly admired. (Swipe to see originals) To use them I had to create one block of my own..... I think it blends right in! Wanting to preserve the integrity of her blocks but give the quilt a more contemporary feel I finally ended up with this simple layout. I tried all kinds of border combinations but after taking more hours fussing with that than doing the quilt I opted for the plain solid. I think it works! Thank you Pauline for your generosity.......I love greens and just may get this quilted by St. Paddy’s Day! #scrapquilt#repurposedquilt#orphanblocks#ilovegreen#quiltyfriendsarethebest#onpointquilt#contemporaryquilt
After it was kindly pointed out to me at work today that if i am making the on point quilt my boats would have been sailing sideways, this is my second block. Looks like i might have a pieced back or matching cushions if this trend continues now i will need to remake my original block but that will need to wait for another day......#QP2018sewalong#alisonglassfabric#sailingships#onpointquilt#oneofthosemoments
A wedding gift. Postage stamp on point quilt. I made 250 m of bunting for the wedding venue of this lovely, very close to our family couple. The quilt was made with the ‘left-overs’. I enjoyed every moment of making them this surprise quilt. #bunting#wedding#postagestampquilt#onpointquilt#weddinggift
Some people shy away from precursors due to cost, but I'm making three (little person) quilts from 1 jelly roll, plus background fabric. Thanks to @angelafmq for the #midnightquiltingshow lesson that inspired these. Can't wait until actually finished. I'm doing something a little different with my left over squares to mix it up... what do you all think? #showmethemoda#desertbloom#onpointquilt
Backed my niece's quilt with an overdyed sheet from the stash, originally from my mother. There is a square from my dad's old shirt and some fabric from one of my old blouses so it really is a generational quilt. Her birthday is in Winter so should have it finished in time . #onpointquilt#bigsquarequilt#upcyclequilt
Quilt top done. This is the On Point Quilt from the Midnight Quilt Show. Fun and easy to make. Now to quilt it. I'll either quilt it with a diagonal pattern I have in mind or I might use Angela Walters' suggestion from the show. And I think I want it backed with flannel.
