THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI (2017)
Director: Martin McDonagh
Starring: Frances McDormand, Woody Harrelson, Sam Rockwell, Peter Dinklage
Months have passed and yet there's no justice to Mildred's daughter, Angela, who was brutally raped and killed. And so, Mildred takes a bold move and puts up three billboards seeking justice. The billboard mentions the name of the town's chief of police William Willoughby, which garners a lot of attention and cricticism towards Mildred. What follows is her battle to find justice, especially when Officer Dixon, William's second-in-command, gets involved in the case. Frances McDormand's performance was more than outstanding. It's her movie. Woody Harrelson is his usual self, classy, and Sam Rockwell stands out as one of the best characters in the movie. What I loved about it is that how it starts as a story of justice and evolves to something more poetic and humane. It's one of those movies you'd sit back and watch without blinking an eye, and ask for more once it ends. The tight script and lively, flawed characters make it a wonderful flick to watch.
