I like to take my time and to profoundly dive into a topic I am interested in. This can take several years and numerous travels until I am satisfied with the results.” Her work has been presented in several museum solo shows, as well as solo gallery shows and group shows. Her documentary and editorial work has been published in fourteen books on different topics and in a variety of international magazines.
Series I „Out of Season” explores touristic landscapes and places outside their function as a stage-setting for holiday makers. What happens to these places after all the “guests” have left?
Series II “I came upon the Südbahnhotel in the Alpine region south of Vienna while researching for a book and was fascinated by its magical appearance. A little the worse for wear, but all the more elegant, crumbling and fading somewhat. The hotel was built in 1882 and gradually grew to become one of the largest palace hotels in Europe. With the rise of the Nazis its numerous Jewish guests were excluded, after WW2 it could not return to its former splendour and finally closed in the late 1960ths.” www.yvonneoswald.at
