3ct Pause Bench - my shoulders and elbows felt really beat up today so the last couple inches of my descent were a little hard to get to. Played it a little conservative

285lbs/129.3kg x3 set 2/4 - didn't even realize until I was rewatching that the dude in the white shirt was a) watching my entire set, and b) gave me a thumbs up that I completely ignored lmao

Another low quality picture of me hiding behind my phone bc this was taken post leg day this AM and ya girl was a hot sweaty mess 💦. Just wanted to take the time to say thank you to everyone that has always been so supportive of this page. It takes a lot to put yourself out there on social media because there’s always gonna be someone that doesn’t like what you’re doing and will have something negative to say about it, but it’s 10x easier when you have a good support system. I started this page not only to help hold myself accountable and track my own progress, but also in hopes to motivate even just 1 person to better themselves. I know when I first started working out I looked up to so many people in the fitness world (I still do!) and that was a big part of what helped motivate me to get into this lifestyle. So big thanks to everyone that has been so positive and uplifting, you all know who you are! 💕

Riding that 🌊 with a huge 740*2 and almost a 3rd into bands. I am extremely happy with these pulls today because I was able to stay calm and execute, I wasn't nervous. I was nothing but confident in approaching the bar and the unknown.
That is the complete opposite of what happened last week, where I let my emotions run high, which isn't a bad thing but just not something that i want my CNS to face on a weekly basis.
Followed this up with some big rows getting back into the 500's and a bunch of back accessories to promote some much needed blood flow.

Through powerlifting I have found a healthy way to cope with anxiety and life’s bullshit. My goal for this meet was to challenge myself and to prove to myself that I’m stronger than my struggles. Mission accomplished.

Throwback Thursday post to my most recent meet almost two weeks ago.
This one was a tough one. There were so many variables: a new coach (the fabulous Christina Pollack of @consistent_purposeful_training), recovery from two injuries I sustained in the winter, not squatting for 5 months because of those injuries, new squat stance, questionable mental health 🤪, stress, and an accidental weight cut to name a few.
My head wasn’t always in the game, and it showed. I could have dropped out of the meet, and believe me, I would have if I thought that was best for me physically and mentally (powerlifting is my *hobby* after all), but I didn’t.
I chose to do it, and I chose to take away some positives:

1️⃣I trained for this meet and brought the best I could that day in spite of life.
2️⃣I didn’t beat myself up for not being where I thought I should be.
3️⃣That new squat stance that @consistent_purposeful_training made me do 😆had my squat depth like low, low, low.
4️⃣Accidental cut meant I was solidly in the 84k class which was a goal I had for this meet. Next time I’ll get there the right way.
5️⃣I’ve gotten a gold metal at all of my previous meets because I usually compete as a class of one in masters. This was my first time competing only in open class and I came in 3rd out of 8. 🥉
6️⃣I got to spend the day with my PL Gang! I love these ladies. I’m old enough to be their older sister...or auntie...or...but the connection and support I feel from them defies anything we don’t have in common in terms of age, race, life experience, or love for Taylor Swift (sorry y’all, I just don’t get it). ❤️ So off season it is. Time to work on getting physically and mentally stronger, and crushing it at the next meet. 💪🏾

My body has done incredible things. The left is me at 32 weeks pregnant with my Bryli, almost 2 years ago now. I was induced 3 days later due to size and laboring for 2 days with no progress. I was measuring 44 weeks. I was borderline in kidney failure and my liver was also flaring up. Welcomed her via c section (3rd one) and she passed away 35 minutes later.
Then the right is me last week. Over a year into fitness, and a year into Powerlifting. Never felt better than I do right now!
