💥Hip Axial Rotations in Hip Extension💥
_
🌑This is a favorite drill of mine to train the hip capsule, as rotation is our primary means of doing so.
_
🌘The band here is used to facilitate extension of the leg, often times a compensation is knee flexion.
_
🌗The slider is used to help her create tension. The cue here is to push the slider into the wall as she creates rotation through the hip.
_
🌖The set-up: In the quadruped position keep the working leg fully extended. Wall not needed, but provides good feedback.
_
🌕The movement:
1️⃣Thinking about moving through the hip, rotate your femur (upper thigh bone) outwards into external rotation as far as you can. Note: Be careful not to move too far that you create pelvic/spinal motion. We want just the femur to move!
_
2️⃣Reverse the direction and internally rotate as far as possible. Make sure it’s only the femur moving.
_
3️⃣Repeat for 2-3 sets of 5-8 reps.
_

Adding to the last post - wide stance anti-rotation chop with rope, these exercises provide solid core stability with adductor (groin) mobility. It’s also important to consider groin stability as well. Don’t forget the adductor Magnus muscle and it’s involvement in hip extension, flexion, and adduction! Abduction strength is key to create torque in any lift, but the adductors are there on the other side to provide power and stability as well! This exercise is a fun little activity I do at the end of workouts to work the adductors for increased stability! Practice somewhere safe getting on the ball first tho! Are you sitting down at the moment? Pay close attention to which side you lean more on. Odds are you favour one side over the other. Whichever side you prefer, will cause the opposite side of your low back (specifically the QL for you out there) to tighten! In 🅰 you can see that the person is leaning more on his right butt cheek and that causes his spine to twist into a minor functional S-shaped scoliosis.
In 🅱 if you place a book underneath that person's right buttocks he will seem to have a straighter spine.

In ©️, the book is placed under the left buttocks and that sends the spine into a major S-shape! So imagine if you're sitting a certain way, and you have your wallet in one of your back pockets. The wallet might be the reason you have low back pain! So not only is it important to release the left QL in this particular situation, you have to make sure you rectify what's causing it to be tight in the first place! (Ie. Your wad of cash is fucking up your back playa!).'

Shoulder Mobility Challenge!

Can you guess who had the best shoulder Mobility? 😁
.
We are back this weekend with another SIMPLE mobility challenge that could help you determine whether or not you may be at a greater risk for injury.
.
Since we like to have fun, we brought our clinic maintenance/handy man guy along to try it out! .
The task:
1. Place the right arm/hand behind the back and “up your back” as far as possibile.
2. Reach overhead and “down the back” with the left arm/hand to try and bring both hands as close together as possible.
3. Repeat on the opposite side! .
IF YOU HAVE PAIN, STOP! Pain is an indicator that you need treatment due to an underlying injury that you may or may not have knew you had
.
The goal: touch the finger tips. If you make a fist and do this, the goal is to bring both fists within 1.5 hands length of each other
.
Give this one a try and let us know how you did!

¿Sabías que la cefalea (dolor de cabeza) tiene múltiples causas y muchas de ellas pueden abordarse desde la Fisioterapia y la Readaptación? 💆‍♀️🧘‍♂️

Hoy vamos a hablaros de algunas de las causas más comunes y que pueden ser tratadas mediante técnicas de Fisioterapia.

Por ejemplo, los problemas estructurales en las vértebras de la columna cervical pueden producir cefalea de manera recurrente (ya sea debido a un esguince cervical, a un traumatismo, a un desplazamiento vertebral o incluso a enfermedades degenerativas que afectan a dichas estructuras). Estos problemas suelen ir asociados a tensión muscular en la mayoría de los casos.

Por otro lado, la presencia de bandas tensas en algunos músculos del cuello produce en muchos casos dolores de cabeza intensos y de manera recurrente. Como hemos dicho, esta tensión muscular puede tener varias causas: problemas estructurales, estrés, debilidad de la musculatura, etc.

También problemas en la mandíbula como puede ser el Bruxismo pueden provocar dolores de cabeza recurrentes además de los propios de esta alteración. ————————————————————
Todo esto también puede producir mareos en algunos casos. 🚨ATENCIÓN🚨: es importante que tu médico descarte otras causas más graves que puedan estar produciendo estos síntomas!!
Así que si sufres de alguno de estos problemas (especialmente si no remiten con tratamiento farmacológico), no dudes en consultar a tu fisioterapeuta, que valorará personalmente tu caso y aplicará las técnicas más adecuadas en cada situación (masoterapia, estiramientos, manipulaciones vertebrales, fortalecimiento, etc.).

THIS MUSCLE IS A REAL PAIN IN THE NECK!
.
You know that knot at the base of your neck that everyone says is in their traps? 😖 It's not in your traps. It's deep to them in a muscle called the levator scapulae.
.
Levator connects from the upper inside border of the shoulder blade up into the neck. And because it works to shrug the shoulder blade up ⬆️(Levator = elevate; Scapulae = shoulder blade), whenever you spend hours all tensed up in front of your computer or phone, it can take on a lot of load and become overworked.
.
That can lead to it being quite sensitive and causing you a constant low level ache from the base of your neck up. Some people call these trigger points. I just call them hypersensitive areas, but to me they're all the same thing. They hurt. So let's do something about that.👍
.
Use the technique in this video for 30 seconds to 1 minute to help decrease some of the pain and tension through your neck and shoulder. Then tag a friend who needs it too and share the wealth!

VCV (Assisto/controlada a volume): O disparo ocorre a tempo, de acordo com uma Frequência Respiratória pré-estabelecida (ex.: FR: 12 irpm - disparo a cada 5s), por pressão ou fluxo (sensibilidade). A transição entre a inspiração e a expiração (ciclagem) ocorre quando se atinge o volume inspiratório pré-estabelcido (VC), fazendo com que a expiração se inicie; Ciclado a volume.
Ajuste do Ventilador: A/C + tipo de fluxo
Adequação dos parâmetros: VC, Ti, Fr, Sensibilidade, PEEP, FiO2. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
PCV (Assisto/controlada a Pressão): O disparo continua a tempo, pressão o fluxo. A ciclagem agora acontece de acordo com o Ti pré-estabelecido, ou seja, quando se atinge o Ti ajustado no ventilador, a expiração se inicia.
Adequação da modalidade: A/C + Pressão controlada
Adequação dos parâmetros: Ti, Pinsp, FR, Sensibilidade, PEEP, FiO2. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
PSV (Pressão de Suporte): O ventilador assiste o paciente através de uma Pressão de Suporte pré-determinada durante a inspiração; O paciente controla a FR, o Ti e dessa forma, o volume de ar inspirado; O VC depende: esforço inspiratório, da PS pré-estabelecida, da mecânica do sistema respiratório. 
Todos os ciclos são espontâneos, ou seja, disparados e ciclados pelo paciente.

⚡️ TENDINOPATHIE DU TRICEPS SURAL ⚡️
Une tendinopathie, communément appelée « tendinite » correspond à une souffrance du tendon qui est de plus en plus fréquente dans notre société actuelle 🖥️. Plusieurs facteurs de risques favorisent l’apparition de cette pathologie : la sédentarité, la malbouffe🍟🍩 (trop de sucre), le tabagisme…
La sédentarité va avoir pour principale conséquence une diminution des capacités musculaires générales, tandis qu’un régime hyper glycémique et/ou le tabagisme auront pour conséquence une diminution de la vascularisation notamment  au niveau tendineux. Or  il faut prendre soin de nos tendons, ce sont des structures fragiles qui cicatrisent difficilement. Le muscle est comme un amortisseur, il est la pour encaisser les différentes sollicitations que rencontre notre corps. Si les amortisseurs sont trop raides (muscle trop faible, contracturé) alors ce sont les structures annexes (tendons, aponévroses) qui vont tenter de limiter l’impact des sollicitations extérieures. Malheureusement, ni le tendon ni l’aponévrose ne sont fait pour ça. Vous voyez vous partir dans le désert avec une Formule 1 🏎️ aux amortisseurs hyper rigides ? Bien sur que non, vous prendriez plutôt un 4x4 🚘 avec des amortisseurs énormes. Pour le corps, diminuer la raideur musculaire se fait, entre autre, par une augmentation de la résistance musculaire.
