Introducing a few of our favourite new wines. Perfect additions to our wine list as we welcome spring and sunnier days ☀️
BARBERA D'ALBA - Meaning “twin,” La Gemella was created to honor the winemaker’s mother, Maria, who is a twin herself and a lover of Barbera. Expressive floral tones of wild rose, fresh berries and crushed mineral. Full-bodied layers of blueberry, licorice, and earth are perfectly balanced. A vibrancy of acid, silky tannins, and lengthy finish contribute to the outstanding quality.
Pair with - 12hr Beef short rib. *
PECORINO - The wine has a bright yellow colour with greenish tinges. Fruity aroma with citrus, tropical nuances, white peach and exotic fruits. It has a lingering and very fresh taste with a slightly balsamic finish. Medium acidity and good structure.
Pair with - friends and a spot in the courtyard ... or the Linguine marinara.
BROUILLY - Brouilly is the largest and furthest south of the Beaujolais crus. Almost quite dark and serious-looking for Brouilly at first sniff but blue flowers, cherry fruit, kirsch, cinnamon, clove are all there, too. Some tannin from the outset, with structure to a very vivid, supple red-fruit pulp feel. Bit of grip. Acidity is good, structure neat and overall picture is vibrant and easy. So much great-value drinking in this.
Pair with - Twice cooked Western Plains pork belly
