Anybody a fan of fruited Goses?! Something about tartness, salt, and fruits supported by a wheat backbone always tickles my palate! The following one from @weatheredsoulsbrewing was brewed with passionfruit, blueberries, and key lime juice. Let's see my thoughts. I purchased this can from the brewery.
Name: Tropical Gose 2.0
Brewery: Weathered Souls Brewing Co., San Antonio, Texas
Poured at 45°F from a pint can (filled 07Apr18) into a teku. Consumed on 11Apr18.
TASTE: Starts off with a bold burst of sweet and tart passionfruit blended with mild notes of blueberry and sweet and tart lime. Mild flavors of wheat, pecans, salt, and sour green apple bring balance to the fruitiness as the lime and passionfruit are slightly strengthened. A touch of mango closes the profile as the salt and blueberry flavors grow a little stronger.
NOTE: Weathered Souls created a grown-up fruit punch with this beer. All the fruits blended wonderfully with the tartness to create a juice-like concoction that reminded me of The Answer's Popsicle and Theee Scoop series. A prominent saltiness ensured the classic Gose aspect that I love in these beers.
