All over the world, sea turtles are swallowing bits of plastic floating in the ocean, mistaking them for food (such as jellyfish), or just unable to avoid the debris that surrounds them. In fact, more than half of all sea turtles from all seven species have eaten plastic debris. This consumption of plastic causes blockages within their digestive system and eventual death.
Did you know 80% of the oceans plastic debris comes from land based sources? That means that no matter where you live, close or far from the ocean, your habits are affecting these turtles!
This broke my heart and was the inspiration behind this swimsuit I designed with @triflarellc. You can purchase this suit on Triflare’s website (link in my bio) and a percentage of the proceeds will go towards the Clean Cliffs Projects efforts to prevent plastic pollution and save the sea turtles! #savetheseaturtles #cleancliffsproject #doyourpart #keepitclean
