CUSTOM DESIGN .
This view of the featured kitchen shows the workbench with a timber top.
The timber top of the old workbench was reused for this new workbench. We have cut it into parts and added timber strips to widen it for the new workbench.
The slightly raised workbench height was a special request from Sam who is a tall kinda guy. This raised height makes it more comfortable for him to cook his beautiful dishes.
I originally glued this up with another live edge cedar plank to make a cedar walnut sandwich bar top. Expecting a house full for my little girl's 5 year bday party I cut off on cedar plank and mounted it to the deck for standing eating/drinking in the yard. I love the contrast between the cedar and walnut with the steel keeping the peace in the middle.
My new tiny wooden art piece which I started yesterday.
And my old gal in the corner.
I will color this drawing in between my upcycle exterior table project ( more in my Stories) and the drawing for Cëlian’s story.
Any fun projects on this week’s agenda?
Enjoy the day.
So proud of how far my handy skills have developed thanks to my amazing fiance
This is the first time I've completely planned and built anything by myself, the shelf isn't perfect but I don't care because it's made with love
This walnut top was my very 1st attempt at a glue up and it ended with a 2" arch in the middle. After weeks with the belt sander and hand plane I buried it in the back of the shop and started over on the kitchen table. 3 years later the arch makes for a perfect outdoor counter top (no standing water). Everything I used for this came from the scrap pile...or a bourbon bottle for the knobs.
