Apparently it’s #nationalselfieday and #internationalyogaday so naturally I did not take a selfie & I did not do yoga ♀️ BUT I did a #5k tempo run & am getting so close to my 5k PR! I’m only 1’37” away, which may seem like a lot to some people but is GREAT to me. Funny thing is, my PR 5k time was almost exactly a year ago here in NM. A year ago, my workouts, diet & mindset were quite different than they are today. I’ve relaxed a little bit on things because I realized what’s most important (doesn’t mean I don’t still set goals for myself!). Letting my body heal after my car accident, moving to a new state, etc. are just a couple of things that have caused breaks in my workout routine over the last 7 months...and lengthy ones at that. But, the whole point of this ‘fitness’ thing is to enjoy the journey - the ups, downs, forward movement, backward movement, stalls, etc. So stay focused, stay determined, set goals, be ok with slow progress, be ok with failure, have fun and be present in the moment!
