Many Italian cuisines date back centuries with panzerotti first made in the eighteenth century in Naples. It's name originates from a Southern Italian word meaning 'stomach' because of its filled shape. It is similar to a small calzone as its made with a salted bread dough and it can be filled with different ingredients but it differs as it is usually deep fried rather than baked.
Our panzerotti are stuffed with mozzarella, provolone dolce and a homemade tomato sauce and they are YUM!
