" Be wild: that is how to clear the river. The river does not flow in polluted, we manage that. The river does not dry up, we block it. If we want to allow it its freedom, we have to allow our ideational lives to be let loose, to stream, letting anything come, initially censoring nothing. That is creative life." -Clarissa Pinkola Estés

We must learn to speak to and understand the language of the wind. There are thousands of infinite dimensions, that we can tap into. The dimension of sound is one of those infinite dimensions. Even silence has its own sound. First we must learn how to breath and we must learn how to listen. In the dimension of sounds you can also find inner peace, joy, and happiness. Its unlimited what you can do with sounds. Sitting in silence we learn how to listen to our heart and to nature.
Spend time in nature, observe, listen, breath, meditate, and sing.🙏

The Navajo Nation Council have voted down plans to develop the Grand Canyon at the confluence of the Colorado Rivers, with both economic and environmental concerns. The proposed entertainment complex included a 1.4 mile gondola, elevated walkway, shops, hotels and restaurants. While sacred land and wildlife are temporarily safe from commercial development, garbage and pollution, this project will surely be reevaluated in the future. Trump has also proposed lifting Obama's ban on uranium mining in the canyon's watershed. I was completely awestruck by the beauty and expanse of the Grand Canyon and can't imagine it becoming another Niagara Falls, nor can I imagine contaminating the only water source of the Havasupai. As visitors and locals, we have to work together in conservation efforts #savetheconfluence

The Little Colorado River just above the confluence with the Colorado River. Like the confluence at Havasu Creek, the confluence at the LCR is a spot that I had always wanted to see. It is such a defining feature in Grand Canyon and a convergence of two massive northern Arizona geographic features. So cool to finally see it while we were on the river! •

On another note, I am so exstatic that where this photo was taken will not be developed into an amusement park, a travesty. It is to special and sacred for that.

This is a huge victory. Thanks to the 65,000 + every day activists who voiced their opposition to the proposal, and to all those on the front lines of the #savetheconfluence movement.

One of our favorite places to fly over - the majestic Grand Canyon. We were pleased to see a couple weeks ago that the Navajo Nation Council voted down the mega resort Grand Canyon Escalade proposal. The decisive 16-2 vote came after several hours of debate. It also was the culmination of seven gut-wrenching years of opposition by Save the Confluence families and Navajo citizens, who joined Hopi, Zuni, and Acoma leaders on Tuesday, October 31, to witness the dramatic decision to kill the Escalade bill. @grandcanyontrust #nps #publiclands #FindYourPark #grandcanyon #savetheconfluence

@Regranned from @natgeo - Video by @pedromcbride // The Confluence of the Colorado and Little Colorado Rivers inside the Grand Canyon is considered sacred by many native tribes in the region. A gondola development, The Grand Escalade, was proposed to be constructed at this location but last night, in a long, passionate Navajo Tribal Council meeting, the tribe voted down the project which was proposed on their land, citing an array of economic, security and environmental concerns with the project. The grassroots opposition to the tram was led by a group of predominantly Navajo women, who want economic growth but “not there”, saying they don't want “a Disney-style development at our sacred places." I’ve been supporting #SavetheConfluence for the past five years in their efforts to stop the Grand Canyon Escalade project, an ill-conceived developer’s fantasy that was an insult to the heritage of the #Navajo, #Hopi and #Zuni people and all the rest of us. The plan, a tram from the East Rim of the canyon down to the #confluence of the Little Colorado River and main Colorado River, along with restaurant, gift shop, boardwalk and other tacky tourist treats, would have brought thousands of people a day down to one of the most spiritual, remote and pristine places left.
.
.
Last week the Navajo Nation Main Council met and in a final vote did a thumbs down on the project in a stunning 16-2 rebuke. And in a show of true cultural sensitivity, the developer flipped the Council the bird on his way out the door. Good riddance. You wanna get to this spot you go by boat or by foot. .

What if your home was built on insecure land? Too much American soil is consumed causing a super disruption in ecosystems. Preserving land and treading lightly are critical measures towards a sustainable future. We won, this time.

The Navajo Nation Council squashed a years-long battle over a controversial proposal for a tourist development at the confluence of the Little Colorado and Colorado rivers. At a special session, the council skewered the Confluence Partners, who wanted to bring 10,000 tourists per day to an area containing sacred sites, grazing land, and traditional homelands to hundreds of Navajo families.
The developers wanted to build a resort that included a gondola tram that glided into the confluence of the Colorado and Little Colorado rivers, in Grand Canyon National Park.
Ultimately, the council voted 16-2 to kill the measure. (@savetheconfluence)

😡 Disgusting behavior by R. Lamar Whitmer from the Confluence Partners, flipping off my brother Nate, a member of the 23rd Navajo Nation Council. He not only disrespected shinaí Honorable Brown, but he disrespected the entire Council, the Nation, Navajo People, and the Council Chamber with that sort of juvenile behavior WHILE he had his hands out asking our Nation for $65 million. I hope Navajo never does business with the Confluence Partners--ever! I’m so happy the Escalade Project was voted down. I’m glad my brother Nate called him out on it, but Whitmer continued to throw him the bird. THE FULL VIDEO IS ON FACEBOOK! #SaveTheConfluence #PreserveDinétah #NavajoNation

We got some fantastic news on Halloween – the Zombie Grand Canyon Escalade project has been killed again. This was never a good deal for the Navajo people and would have drastically changed the nature of making the sacred pilgrimage to the Grand Canyon. Thanks to everyone who has spoken out against this horrible development plan! The Navajo Nation Tribal Council voted 16-2 during a special session against legislation that would have given a green light to a multimillion-dollar project to build an aerial tram taking paying visitors to a riverside boardwalk at the confluence of the Little Colorado and Colorado Rivers. It was the first time the full council had taken up the measure since it was introduced last year. Navajo tribal lawmakers raised concerns about the development resulting in more public safety demands, while others questioned the proposal's requirement that the tribe provide $65 million for roads, communications, and water and power lines, while preventing any other development within a 15-mile radius and along access roads. Most of the Council just deemed it an inappropriate development for the land that is sacred to not only the Navajo but also to several other regional tribes. Though this project is dead for now we must remain vigilant! These developers will surely be back. ===> Little Colorado River at the confluence. | 📷 Bob Kerry
