If your kCal came from your surroundings ️would you know what to do with a palmful of these??It's been awhile since I've gone and gotten mycologycal... But I do love eating them.
These little buggers are high value scav. Fresh or dried they are extremely nutritious and kCal dense (by weight).
They look amazing too. Not just beautiful, but helpful in their aesthetic. A kind fungus--not hard to tell the difference between it and the inedible fauxshrooms that trys to mimic it. /
For now I'll keep using my dried stash, for soup bases, in mixed meats (burgers and mince for pies) and light sauces.... And anywhere I can fit em.
THE FALSE MOREL IS SHOWN IN LAST IMAGE DONT EAT THAT COTTON-ASS GARBAGE!!!!!
Lovely scavenged wood. I found three benches being thrown out and took them a part for these beautiful beams.
25mm width so exactly the same as our foam boards that will insulate the floor.
I aim to create in ways that leave as little waste as possible and don't mind one bit being a scrapper and scavenger in what I endeavor to reshape or transform.
Used this ballsy color for one of the pockets on my scarf - not as heavy on the natural-camo vibe but fire has it's place in the forest
Introducing G2D2, my 100%Scavvd cooktop, fire pit, burn barrel and modular cooking system.️ I've hinted here and there about this guy, but after a few meals and some practice I can see where I'm headed next with the stainless steel lil bugger.
Before this thing I was using a bottomless galvanized burn barrel ️️set inside a water heater evap tray. Not easy to cook on, as everything was high heat and nothing was balanced or sturdy.
Now, after a year of searching, I've got a system I can work with and modify until the cows come home.️ Next step is an appropriate oven cover (might use the old trash can) and then wood gas collection and distribution (well under way) If you don't know about wood gas don't worry--ill be yammering on about it soon enough. ️️️️
If you do know any 2stroke woodgas carbeuration /tips holler achya boy. Shooting for a meaty 14? I'd imagine 15 or 16 might even work in a 2stroke
Unearthed yet another old milk bottle over the weekend! I remember how the birds would pick the tops and drink the cream. I didnt really think then that this was unhygienic, more it was a bummer that they got to the best bit first!

Went out and scavenged out a good spot, brought the reinforcements a few hours later to slay some more. Had to get them out to catch some of the plentiful stockies, and a surprise visit from a yellow perch
